When I was younger, I kind of scoffed at the "grey-beards" towing cars in an enclosed trailer to car shows and rod-runs. Now, I'm AM a grey-beard, I have an enclosed trailer, and we towed our roadster in it to Florida. We just got back home yesterday to Michigan, and I'm not at all embarr***ed to admit the roadster was a very comfortable traveler in the trailer. It was 1,285 miles door to door, which is about 1,200 miles more than I want to drive this (admittedly very comfortable and capable) little car. We put 3,000 miles on the car in Sarasota, in addition to the 3,000 I'd put on it in the year and half before that since "finishing" it. It never missed a lick, has performed flawlessly and comfortably in that time. An oil change and wrapping the exhaust head pipes in header wrap (the ****pit was unbearably hot before that) is the only thing I've had to address in the entire time. Well, other than the rear Panhard bracket bolts loosening up, but things happen, and it was an easy fix. I'm looking forward to a summer of fun with it here, our first outing is Wednesday at the Gilmore Museum, we're taking the roadster, our Spartan trailer and the DeSoto wagon, for their vintage trailer gathering. In other happy news, EVERYTHING here started instantly, thanks in large part to the "Harbor Freight" battery tenders. Lawn mower, utility tractor our son's Ranch wagon, the Diamond T, the Impala, the DeSoto wagon and my wife's daily Chrysler 300C, started like they'd been just parked yesterday. I can't say enough good about those things, sure saves a bunch of time jumping and charging dead batteries. Have a great summer everyone, hopefully see some of you at events here in Michigan!
