    I think the issue was these main bearings drop right in using the dowel to guide and place it, somehow my dowel was misaligned even though it turned over perfect when I built it. Re-did the machine work on the engine today and will assemble this week.

    Has anyone given thought to using a die grinder and making a small valley from the oil hole on the engine to the threaded stud hole so it can get to the rockers without using the special bolt with the hole in the center?

    No I haven‘t, but you could just cut back the Head gasket in this area. I have no clue if this is a good oder or not… but I‘d rather sacrifice a headgasket than the deck of a good block!
