I ran across this the other day, a little pre-Willys Elverne Pfeifer history. Before Pfeifer built his ultra sano Willys it seems that he ran this equally clean Mercury g***er. B/G with Cadillac power.
Not a Willys but also pretty cool…. Elverne evolution. Wasn’t sure where else to post this.

IMG_5216.jpeg Does anyone know the history of this car? Who’s it was, what year it was? What ended up happening to it?

The return road does look like Indy, but in comparing your photo with some newer ones I have it doesn't look like the opposite side of the strip has the same grandstand layout or seating area. And it doesn't look like that small hillside that shows up on that side in your first pic is there either. Things have no doubt changed a lot since then so who knows? Not much help I know, but cool pics regardless. Thanks for posting. BTW, you prolly already know this but your Triad Willys was owned in the '70s by a buddy of mine from Willmar MN. It's an amazing survivor and I'm glad it wound up with a proper caretaker.

Took these pics at Byron Dragway during Drag Week 2022. No info on the car other than it wore Michigan plates. Fun to see an old school ride like this in the middle of all the hi-tech stuff that runs that event. ;)

This is definitely the "Ultimate" Willys g***er thread alright. Thanks everyone for posting!

A few more Willys shots for ya, don't think I've posted these here yet? Snapped 'em at the Meltdown Drags.
