cant wait till you complete your trip so you can fill in all the photograph voids you have left. Also, can you fill some of less fortunate ( dont have the lost hotrods book series) in on the technical make up of that bitchin roadster? keep us posted.. Jeff
Made it back to familiar ground. Today was filled with rain and clowns that felt the need to almost run into me as they tried to snap a picture during pouring rain and four lane traffic. Pure fun. I made it to my buddy Rays place. Now if I told you about the cars and just damn cool shit this ole boy has you would call me a liar. Just know he is as humble as they come and generous beyond words. his 32. My pal Bruce ran on up with his lil 34 This trip is almost a wrap, it has been amazing. I promise I will throw together a solid read and smack it full of pics for everyone. For now it's eat and shower, sleep. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Great pictures, Great story and Great roadster!! Thanks for taking the time to include us on the trip! And yes to the Hero part too.
Amen to that! You have quite the gift of gab and and a great eye for what makes a great photo, I hope that gets put to good use.....aka coffee table book. Great stuff, cant wait!
I've known Gary Vahling a long time and he IS a great guy. I've admired that roadster for a long time too, seeing it in his shop. Around here there are rumors that it was some sort of famous car in its day, some have said it may have been in some movies or on TV in the old days. Got some really neat features and if you ever find out the history of it please post it here. Congrats on the car and on the road trip. Nothing like a long jaunt in a topless roadster to make you a true believer!
Made it home. She is simply the best lil roadster I have had the chance to come across. 2000 miles behind us and a once in a lifetime adventure. All this and my wife still loves me. I am a lucky guy. I am going to throw together an editorial style post on this. So much to put together. 100s of photos, millions of words. Thanks to every who wished us well and helping keep the positive energy pulling us home. She has a family name "Lil Lucy". got the first piece to the roadster for my wife. Put your wife behind the wheel, she looks great in the roadster, will look even better driving it, and, might love you more!
We're still waiting to hear and see this trip home finished, my pop corn is getting cold...................
Haha. Trying to condense it into something that fits on the forum. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
A trip of a lifetime. Good to see you made it home with no major breakdowns or incidents on the highway. That's an awesome little roadster and after she took you cross country in such fine fashion I'm hoping she has proven that very little needs to be changed and what the builder put together has stood the test of time needing little to live on as a hot rod. Frank
Great to see you made it home with little hickups as posable! Enjoy that little jewel and looking farward to more post on it!
Cool!!! Congrats on an awesome car and the road trip. To say that I'm jealous is a huge understatement!
