I guess most importantly I was back home to Florida with my family, after being stranded in Wisconsin for 3 weeks with the tranny in the shop. I did get a new rebuilt starter, stainless wiper arms, new shifter knob, a flaming eye ball for my antenna and a War of the Worlds DVD.

Boy its nice to be out of that snow. I dont know if I ever want to move back.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and dont drink and drive for New Years.

I got the "50 Years of Rod and Custom " in hard bound and it's awsome. It's got 50 years of R & C pictures and write ups. Great reading for cold winters night.

Besides my health, a warm home/garage, a girlfriend who understands, a happy dog that doesn't, and a loving family that supports me, I also got 3 significant things this year worth mentioning on the HAMB:

    1) Bought this from Corn Fed...VERY smooth transaction, described as a NOS 1951 Mercury Grill Opening. It is. I LOVE NOS parts!

How do you tell someone that for Christmas, you'd like a "1951 Merc grille surround...oh, here is a guy that has one for sale..." I just did it myself.

This is the most I have spent on the Merc in over a year, so I consider it a "Christmas Present" to myself. :)

    2) Marc came over Pre-Christmas and brought me my "first" real present, an Ed "Big Daddy" Roth Book that chronicles his life, art, and cars. See pic. It's VERY cool. It will sit proudly with my other "kustom" books. Thanks again, Sticklifter... :) We'll get your car in primer this week hopefully!

    3) My Ma got me the Cash book. I wanted it when I first heard it was coming out, to round out my collection so to speak. I forgot about it because it wasn't released yet. Mom surprised me with it. All I told her a couple weeks ago was "anything Johnny Cash is on my list...even if I have it already." I didn't have this one. Looks to be a good read...lots of photos and memorobilia is included in it's pages. 40 some people who were close to Johnny give their personal reflections on the Man in Black.

The coolest present of all: a place to share it all. Merry Christmas to all my HAMBer friends.

I got 2 and 1/16" and 3 and 5/8" holes saws to make the new dash-and lots of future dashes. And I got one of those bags that turns a 5 gallon bucket into a tool chest-which is great beacuse, on the farm, not everything can be moved to one of the two shops. And a Bastian Tire hat that was free- all I had to do was buy some snow tires for one of the kid's cars. And my youngest daughter bought a wedding dress-so I guess I got that, too.

And, best of all, I had all three of my kids home for Christmas. That's the best there is-the rest is really just stuff.

.........I got a cool portfolio that holds 14"x17" sheets that I have assembled my "Johnny Ace Collection" into. I have 8 originals now (plus the air brushed HAMB raffle shirt). I put the each piece in a page with the poster made from it on a facing page. VERY impressive collection if I do say so myself! (still need that last poster...)
Also got two new pairs of kicks from Draven. www.draven.com Still waiting for "The Art of Bulldog Skates" to arrive in the mail.

  30. :D 5 days round trip fully paid vacation in Los Cabo, Baja California, Mexico. We just got back last night. Wow,,,we had a good time. Even got burned laying on the beach drinking Pacifico beer.;)
