That is a different way to make a tail dragged out of a '58 Chevy. It must be a rather crime free area to leave the trailer unattended.
Love that part of the country, the dry vintage tin is just a bonus. Have a big family reunion next summer at Custer State Park, can't wait. Maybe I'll actually drag something home this time!
Phillips, give me a shout when you come out here. You will be minutes from my place Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I lived in Rapid City and Spearfish when I was a wee tyke in the '60s. There was old stuff everywhere. My great uncle had a cattle ranch near Isabel and I can remember playing in a '28 Buick he**** that sat in the side yard. My older sister lives in Huron, knows I'm a car nut and sent me some pictures of old cars awhile back. Its amazing the stuff that is still up there. I tell my buddies about it here in Hawaii and they just about salivate at the prospect of a South Dakota road trip.
Yeah I know, I'd call my brother in law first. He's been wrenching since the dawn of time and probably knows about every old car within 100 miles.
Great thread!! Plesse keep em' coming. How big of an area do you cover? It's like there's old tin every mile!
I drive about 500-600 miles a week on my route. There's much more that I can't get a picture of. Sent from my A520L using H.A.M.B. mobile app
If you are familiar with Harold Lemay's car collection (Tacoma), this is part of how he created his collection, IIRC. He started out with a small refuse hauling company that GREW. He would offer his drivers bounties for finding cars that he would buy. cool pics, keep'em coming!
That's pretty funny because I just moved here from Colorado. Sent from my A520L using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Funny. When I was in 8th grade, way back in the early 1980s, I worked pumping gas in a small southwest Missouri town. One day a mid 1970s camaro came in. When I pulled the license plate down to fill it up, a bumper sticker with that phrase was stuck to the back of it. I had no idea what it meant. Sheltered Life!
Very much so! I never did make it in for that speed-o calibration on the '47. Doesn't matter much now though as I sold it. Sent from my A520L using H.A.M.B. mobile app
This is a great idea keep those pictures coming. May be it will have more HAMBers add to this from other parts of the country. Lets put those smart phones into hyperdriver!
Great pics and thanks for sharing. I will be riding my bike along with several friends out there in August for Bike Week. We have a house rented in Rapid City for the week and lookin forward to the trip. We stayed in the same house several years ago and truly enjoy the scenery in your area. Great area to ride and enjoy the scenery.
Some of these are a far stretch for my little phone camera but I'll take them anyway. Sent from my A520L using H.A.M.B. mobile app
I live right the middle of Rapid City and Sturgis. Be careful when you come out. I know locals that will not ride during the rally because its so dangerous.
Saw this one at a yard sale on Saturday. No it wasn't in the yard sale it was just recently finished. My wife noticed I went missing and came back and found me looking at this. Sent from my A520L using H.A.M.B. mobile app
I did find this at one of the yard sales. Sorry the picture is upside down. Sent from my A520L using H.A.M.B. mobile app
