Was just there this weekend for drill. Had my family with me. Will be back for drill again in April. Gonna drive the A down sometime when its warm. I'm there twice a week now with my new job but at 2:30 in the morning and just long enough to drop and hook two trailers. Definitely will get with you. Had to go to Fargo last week for some training. I always take side trips into the little small towns I go through and this is one of the trucks I saw. Saw a whole lot more but just couldn't get good pictures. What a shame. Sent from my A520L using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Had to make a delivery way out in the Hills today. Man I love driving out here. Especially when I'm getting paid for it! For all those that are wondering, I do stop and park when I'm taking pics. I'm not about to try to take pictures, shift gears and keep all 18 wheels on the road. Sent from my A520L using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I see your pictures of the Black Hills and it makes me want to go back for a visit. My older sister and one cousin both moved to Rapid City recently. Time for a vacation to the family roots maybe... I wanna go fishing at Deerfield Lake again.
Well come on out and I'll take you out for some coffee in the hills in the Model A or the Hudson. All I need is a slight reason to take a cruise in the hills.
You just never know what you'll come across. Saw these hiding out in a storage unit today. Sent from my A520L using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
When we lived in Spearfish in the '60s we'd often drive to Rapid City to visit family. For years I saw an old car in a field near Piedmont with the trunk "opened backwards." Didn't realize till years later it was a rumble seat.
Decided to take the 51 Hudson out for a cruise today and ran across these while I was out. I love the little Plymouth Business Coupe. Sent from my A520L using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I can't believe the metal on these. The average early 60's Chev pickup like your first shot, around here will fit loosely in a 5 gallon pail
I think that 35 International came by way of Al Smith in Newell. Looks like one he had for sale for a while
There's a few more cool semi's at that spot. I'm a ****er for the big trucks myself and I do love those cabovers. There is three or four cabover Kenworths and Peterbilts just to the right of where I took that picture. Here's a couple more of them today. Not too sure that the Riviera is in the year range for the HAMB as I don't them well enough to know the years. Sent from my A520L using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
From what I remember as a little kid living in Rapid City and Spearfish in the '60s, South Dakota did not use salt on the roads; I seem to remember my dad saying they used sand. That may well explain the great iron still existing.
I can only imagine the cars that were parked in front of this building 50 years ago. Sent from my A520L using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
