  4. Ford didn't build a 2 door Phaeton in 1932 but leave it to Brookville Roadsters to make one. HRP

    Hello,

The weather out West is on the rise in temperature from cold to warm. But, in So Cal, it is usually mild to warm, so it is perfect convertible or open roadster weather, just about any time. Add in some friends and open cruising is the mode of the day.

The coastal weather is always set as much as it can be. The ocean is always fighting the land for superiority. Just the other day, early Friday morning, around 2 a.m. a fierce rainstorm came blasting into the Westcoast shoreline. It was predicted to be a huge Spring storm to give added water and snow in higher elevations. The huge spring storm almost blew down our patio umbrella and moved the chairs around in funny patterns.

As powerful as it sounded, it only lasted 2 hours and by 4 a.m. it was just a drizzle until 5 a.m. The rest of the day was a typical Spring day in the low 70s and sunny. Where was the continuing advertised storm? It went East as fast as possible and is probably blasting the Rockies and the Midwest by now. The hot rod folks with convertibles and phaetons were probably happy to see the normal sunny Spring day for their outdoor road trips, out here.

So, the fast moving storm had residual following winds all day Saturday from the ocean, but it was still sunny and 70s. The prediction for Sunday was supposed to be low 80s. But for some reason, the low level fog bank sitting about 10 miles out towards Catalina Island is trying to make inroads into the land and consequently, water usually wins. The local weather service has now lowered the 80-84 degree day down to low 70s again.

Open air cruising always brings back memories of the cold morning 1932 Ford Phaeton photos I took one winter morning on a photo shoot. Since it is the screen shot of my home computer, on hot days, it cools. On cold days, I just put on a sweatshirt. Problem solved.

But to see a pristine build and definitely a cool hot rod on a cold morning all went together that morning. Using my old 35mm film camera(s) and my new 2.25 Twin Lens Reflex camera for crystal clear images on a crystal clear day made the shivering photo shoot worthwhile.

The rewards were definitely worth it. The composition and presentation of a Grey and Black color shot was impressive due to the surroundings and the bright red interior.

The Perfect Parts Chaser? It is not my choice of titles, but it did so some parts delivery and pick up...

    Thanks, Jim...

  8. John, I've said it many times in the past, there is probably nothing that hasn't been posted multiple times over years but remember we add new members daily that haven't seen the threads. HRP

It’s the correct link but as you said it is not working at this time. Lynn (Pew) periodically has issues with his site, give it some time and try again.
BTW The phantom Deuce Phaeton in post #34 is ‘bitchen! The author drew it perfectly, sits right, great colors, damn!!

Maybe not your idea of one but it says “Phaeton” on the back door stainless.
