Got some work done on the Model A. Rebuilt the rear roll pan. Installed the panel below the decklid. Installed my morris-minor trunk hinges. How you like my garage door decklid handle?? Finally got my rear axle and front spindles are on the way so next weekend i should have a rolling chassis put together. Progress is slow :(

Finished up making stacks, a floor and the sides of my new air box. Now to get the stacks powder coated. I rattle canned the box. The hood scoop sets down on it.

  9. Got my FLeetline finally done enough to take it for a put around the shop yard, looks different outside in the open, no real exhaust to speak of so loud as hell.:D

I wanted to get the 52 Ford home that I bought last October, figure out why my Mark VIII's charging system isn't working, fix the lawn mower, go to the u-pull-it yard and see if they had a wheel to fit the Mercedes (not likely) and get a few more things done around my place.

I did get the 52 home, looked at a couple of 57 Fords, went shopping with the wife and daughter paying through the nose for what they thought they needed and paid a few bills (fun). At least I finally got the 52 home.

Took the '50 Burb over to the upholstery shop and left it for a while. Having the entire interior done. That was Friday afternoon.

Saturday and Sunday worked on wiring the back half of my '71 Chevy pickup. Lights and trailer plugs. That went well :)

Spent the last 4 nights at the high school for my daughter's dance performances.

    Been a good weekend :)

Chased down an oil pressure issue, installed a new master cylinder and bled the brakes, installed my new fatty WWW on the rear axle, primed my front fenders one last time before color, prepped an original glovebox door for my dash, topped off my trans, set my timing and idle, and stripped some parts from an old car....

And managed to avoid cutting the grass :D

Gave my shed and garage a major douche out.
That may not sound like much, but it was. LOL

The garage still has a long way to go, but maybe when I finish I can finally work in there with out things falling on my head or jumping out in front of me to make me trip.

My weekend actually STARTS on Sunday, but I got some things done today as well. Got the 52 smoothed out, sanded, prepped and my first coat of primer shot. Nice thick coat of Poly Prime. I too need to stop by Lefty's and get a touch up.:D

Saturday I went to Little River to make a few passes in the roadster, where I discovered that the track was VERY slick with all the water that the street tired cars drug down the track. Once I got the slicks to stop spinning and able to put some load on the engine I discovered that I had one of my fuel pumps had failed leaving me with no fuel pressure. Not having a spare fuel pump with me I loaded the car back on the trailer and spent the rest of the day with my daughter watching the hot rods and muscle cars duke it out. After watching a guy crash his beautiful blown Henry J during his burnout I figured my day wasnt all that bad.
Today I spent the whole day landscaping the yard. Damn there is ALOT of rocks just under the topsoil here in south Austin.

I am looking forward to going to work tomorrow so I can get some rest.

  21. Had a gorgeous day out with the fam at the park for a bunch of today, then cut down a vine that had destroyed our fence, and got the oil pan just about ready to drop outta the Biscayne to find out what the hell is making a noise like rotating assembly on sheet metal. Definitely have to get to that this week - elder daughter (she'll be 3 this week) sez: Daddy, when Biscuit gets running, maybe we can take him for a ride to go get...ICE CREAM!

Pictures of former accomplishments are elsewhere on the net/HAMb...

But this weekend I got the 220 wire stuffed down thru the walls and run under the floor and then actually plugged out
and onto the wall in the garage,
With a real 220 receptical and all!

OK, so It's not actually wired into the breaker box yet
but the breaker is there and the wire is hanging out of the box right beside it ...

and at the other end of the wire there is now a 220 volt Industrial receptical Installed in the Barn.........

Now, I just have to grab life by the bongos and hook the actual wire to the breaker,
Hopefully I wont let all of the smoke out of the circuit on the first try......

    :) Woo who,

220 in the barn just might mean that I get to hook up a real mig welder and weld my motor mounts up
some time in the next 30 years or so

Took the 53 for its first drive in 13 years. That was after bruising the crap out of my rib cage replacing the master cylinder (had to lay over the fender, resting on my lower rib cage to get to the bolts on the backside of the frame), bleeding brakes, putting in new radiator, four trips to the parts house for hoses (radiator folks built it wrong, hoses didn't fit and of course, parts house guys have no clue about 53's).

Cleaned up wheels for new Diamondbacks. Got an OT parts car running. Picked up a 72 cutlass supreme (parts car) and the guy gave me another car, running driving, also OT.

  27. I finally finished notching my frame! That only took... a year and 3 months?

Tell me about it. Two 10 hr days of landscaping has actually bruised my ass cheeks....and my soul. Other then that, I guess just some more planning of the '31 Chevy. Oh, I actually took apart the head lights and polished the silver also.

The boys and I got the '46 frame 1/2 blasted :) Its fun to actually get to working on the truck rather than setting up the garage so that I could work on the truck. I have been blasting in the garage so that the neighbors don't complain too much, everyone said that the job would be too dirty to do in the garage. But really it is far cleaner than the drywall sanding that I did in there during the winter.

I wasnt happy with how well I cleaned the intake manifold out last weekend so I took it off again (thus losing $30 for another pair of gaskets). I also yanked out the radiator and started chiseling an 1" of hardened sludge off the front of the engine. I pulled the water pump off and I was actually a bit surprised how clean it looked compared to the rest of the water lines. I suffer from "Well, while I'm doing that I might as well do that too" syndrome. This all started because I wanted to rebiuld the carb. Probably good for the ol Firedome.
