I continued bolting together the 303
all nice and new inside :D

don't have a deffinate plan for it yet,
still might go in the T to replace the Stude motor, even though the little Stude is running like a Champ

...or maybe it'll be part of a whole new build,
like an early fifties style car built using this body I picked up earlier this week.. :D

Managed to successfully remove all 6 pins on my Model A door hinges. Only messed up one hinge that will need to be replaced.
(anyone got a lower p***enger side door hinge they wanna get rid of?)

  5. Started KNOCKING the filler off my T roadster body. An inch thick in some places! Cut away the bun panels (which were welded to the rear quarters) so I can patch them tonight. Need to make a whole new subframe though.

I stared at my springless T and pretty much finished up the stop light for the back. I did go to the local races today though, which was cooler than staring at the rear of my car waiting on the spring.
a short video of the races http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYK7Mq_uI08

and a shot of my car

Started working on the rolling ch***is for the coupe body and little hemi I bought off Hyfire. Drank a 6 pack of turkey cans, dreamed a lot about how it will look. Woke up with a hangover. :)

Pulled the manifold on my friends 440 in his '55 f-100 to fix leaks. Did alot of other little things to it.

Ran new tail and stop light wires in my panel truck and got the lights all up to par...

Next week I get my motor for it... should be fun

drove 6 hours into new york to pick up a 29 chevy coupe I bought on ebay from lockwoodcustoms. while I was there picked up a 37 chevy pickup cab too. great guy. lots of time in the van, found out the governor on it is set at 82 mph

  14. My brother in law brought the sister's minivan over for a front brake job. I couldn't get the two damned little screws Honda uses to hold the rotors on during ***embly off. Some yutz mangled them during the last brake job and I didn't have the tools to get them out and the bro-in-law didn't have the time to mess around with it so he went to some chain auto repair place to get it done today.

After that fiasco I started to doodle out some plans for a one man streamliner. It has to be narrow enough to get the body out of the ba*****t door since that's where I'll be trying to ***emble the bulk of the thing. The garage is small and packed full of Packard so the ba*****t is my new laboratory!

Put new u-joints in a different driveshaft I had made when I built the hot rod. Dropped it off to get it balanced. Pulled my 28 splined axles and the third member out of the coupe. Got the old bearings off of the 31 splined axles, cleaned the axles up and put new bearings on. Still waiting on my Ebay 31 spline traction lock.

We moved not too long ago and I just recently sold another car so that I would have the funds to finish my coupe.

So, this weekend I cleaned the garage, hung some fluorescent lights, pulled the body off the ch***is and started buying a lot of parts.

I also started my "TIG welder fund" which should be full around Christmas time.

    28 rpu. 302/4spd/9".

Finished my custom clutch linkage. Ford's pull the clutch fork forward while Chevy pushes. I just used part of a stock Mustang cable, mounted an A/C idler puller on a bracket mounted to the frame ahead of the fork so now when I push the pedal, it pulls the cable, which rides the pulley back around and pulls the fork forward.

I am planning to mount my MC under the seat so that I can have my access window out of sight. This means my MC is actually mounted about 28 inches away from the pedal. I made a push rod out of 3/8" steel rod and made a threaded adjustment near the MC end to fine tune it. I am in the middle of making the MC mounting bracket. I will add safety hoops and stops to the pedal to make sure there is no way the push rod could come out of the MC or fall out of the car.

Made some custom pedals. Two horseshoes. One for brake and one for clutch. Turned up of course so my luck don't run out. :)
For the gas, I found this casting of a nifty star on a round disk that was intended for a drawer pull. Its 3" in diameter and made for an awesome looking go pedal.

Once I get all this pedal stuff done, I can put in the floor boards and seats and figure out my steering column drop.

The truck is beginning to take on a "texana" kind of theme. Its rusty with old barn wood plank floors. I am thinking of doing a cowhide seat (no fur). I might incorporate some leather, br***, and nickel trim in the cab. Stars for dash knobs if I have any. Thinking of tin door and kick panels with some sort of embossing of maybe longhorns, stars, or something along those lines.

Or I might just change my mind all over again.

  28. Spent the two days trying to finish up the seven inch top chop on an advance design truck cab. Started sawing off the top last week end. I used two donor cabs, for the extra metal to close the seams and to put a full piece of metal in the center area. Not an easy task. The H.A.M.B. tech articles sure helped alot! Thanks to all that contributed to the various tech information that I have read. No flaws of design doing the chop, due to good information learned from the H.A.M.B..

  29. I spent the last two days trying to finish up the 100amp service updgrade to the garage. Well tonight I have power back in the garage to the new sub panel. I am totally excited about it too.
