Saturday I finished the gas tank and sprayed it with rattle can bedliner, good stuff!

Then I pushed it outside to clean up the shop (and so it could get rained on)

Helped a buddy retrieve a 336 Lincolin Flathead and I also got some shit out of his shed today and hauled it home for me. He need's the '97's back but I don't care, lotsa carbs around. Clear oil in it and turns over easy.

Also worked on radiator plumbing, can be a bitch but may have enough stuff to make it work.

Before It get's dark I will push the car back inside and put the body back on, cob up the steering and get it ready for the back yard test runs.

Met up with the usual suspects for breakfast on saturday. Went over to help a fellow HAMBer thrash on his car sunday, woke up today with one serious alergy/cold, its either the fact that I slept with the window open, or I am alergic to racoon excrement, or both. Other than that, my ankle hurts like hell, my Buick is ready for Billetproof and I have to go back to work tomorrow.

I took a leak or two on some azalias. Pissed on the rose bushes too! Hey, it makes them grow better. It was actually intentional!

On a more serious note, the wife unit and I kicked some serious ass! Friday I got the frame cleaned up, welded, painted and ready to rock. Saturday it stormed like a mo-fo here so we bagged the car stuff and just went to the bar. But sunday we got the new motor and trans in place! One step closer. Then we went to the "local" poker game. Needless to say, Wifey took me to the cleaners there also. Monday I cleaned the garage, drank beer and thought about our military.

I got pushed back on my schedule by a month but if I keep hammering on it, I'll have this bastard back on the road in two or three weeks. My wife rules!

(I had to say that or she would have beat me down with a lug wrench and tack welded my fly...)

I played around with my 50 Ford, worked on a buddy's dunebuggy project, did some yard work and then some relaxin'. I also took a couple artsy type pictures. I think they're pretty cool.

I gave a parade ride to 3 Bluehaired old lady's in a Memorial day parade. A real small town near here always does a celebration and my bud an I take the converts down and haul the bluehairs. Free food and beer after the parade and services at the local cemetary.

Great speech by a Army Major just back from Iraq.

Friday nite went to a couple of local cruz nites. Hooked up with a number of HAMB buds. Great time.

Saturday morning cruzed 1 1/2 hour north to have breakfast with quite a few GMB's then headed to Roadstar's shop to work my ass off sanding and priming convert top pieces. Dinner out then a movie here at the house.

Sunday spent the morning doing some major re-arranging in the basement. Turned my paint studio into a guest room complete with bed, little fridge and a huge shelving unit full of car mags. What more could a car guy ask for.:D Headed to a BBQ in the afternoon where Roadstar's roadster and Dad's '40 were the hit of the day.

Today after breakfast headed back over to Roadstar's shop where we sanded FOR THE LAST TIME, the convert top bows. Got them as smooth as a babys butt. These pieces are going to ROCK. They were so pitted when I started. I can't believe they have come out so smooth. The "boys" convinced me that Race was better qualified to lay the shiny paint on since I really didn't want to spend any more time sanding any runs that MIGHT have happened if I painted them, so.... shiny black gets applied tomorrow by Race. :D

We had AWESOME weather here all weekend. Fingers crossed for more of the same next weekend for Billetproof.

However, I did also get the inner-fenders cleaned up and painted and found a source for the temperature sending unit we've been needed and that the carb rebuild kit is a special order from Jeg's. . .so after some discouragement, actually have a sense of accomplishment for the weekend. Not to mention I now have a yellow 361 (the color for Edsel engine, god only knows why).

Had to work at the Firehall Sat. and today. Been pretty quite considering the holiday traffic. Only had one wreck, a hit and run. Nobody hurt and the Police caught the guy hiding in the woods.
Worked on the 460 in my old '47 Coupe yesterday, finally got the motor back together after the dist. drive pin broke and gear ate up the cam gear. Drilled out the new dist. pin hole to Chevy diam. and put another smaller dia. roll pin inside the other. It'll probably wring off the oil pump shaft now.... Put a Comp 268 cam in it, has a little more lope than the other one, keep your fingers crossed this has about turned into aversion therapy.

Got quite a bit done for once. Got my motor mounts and trans mount finished and installed. I used the front portion of my rear 36 bones that I cut off and added some gussets. Sorry no pix.

Got the eelco fuel log I scored from Dickster all hooked up. 6 carbs = alot of copper lines to run! Took awhile, bit it turned out killer , I'm totally stoked on how it turned out. The only prob I'm having now is the linkage I got from Suedesled hits the valve covers. The linkage kicks ass, I just need to rase them up! I'll machine some 3/8 spacers for under the carbs to raise them up this week.

Bunch of other odds and ends too got my Dads front end and Rear end hung on the 34 coupe he's building.

Also caught my 5 month old son pretending to cruise some chicks in the roadster.....I can't wait to build the little man a hot rod!

    Kids are the true RULERS!!!

I drove clear across SC to pick up a 66 chevy II for my dad, towed a new parts truck home, sold a dodge D50.; ummm, did a few burnouts in front of my old high school that burnt down a few days ago... knocked a dent in the tail gate of the elky. Forgot I had a hydro jack in the back...orderin shit for the 53..buahahaha!!! And did major thinkin on my 65 malibu a/fx project...

  19. Friday...got off work early and tackled my VW bus project...got my corner replacement in and skimmed some filler to smooth it all out. Put the wheels and tires on and finally lander her on the ground after 6 months on jack stands. Got a call that night for a trade offer on the bus. Took it, but needed to finish a few machanical stuff on the bus to make it complete.

Saturday...Got up late...went out with the wifey that ended up in a huge argument....:sigh: Brother!..... Buddy needed help in the shop w/ a VW 23 window Bus project that was leaving early Sunday afternoon. The bus was on the body rotissarie (sp?) w/ no running gear, needed scraping, metal work, undercoating, priming and paint...then re-assemble on all 4's to be rolled on a trailer. It was mad chaos...but alot of fun...we only got the bottom of the bus painted, body caulked, and undercoated....didnt leave til 3am.

Sunday...got up at 9 am in a freakin' mass hystaria. Was supposted to be back at the shop at 7 am to help re-assemble the bus. Got to the shop, started re-assembling...2xcrash came down so we could work on his 54 plymouth.....he dived in too (thanks Bud!!!). We got the bus on the ground on all 4's in 4 hours....Remember, everything that is normally bolted under the bus...suspension, brakes, hoses, steering colum..etc...was out. We put it all back in, including the tranny, all brake lines, front beam, all cables, steering/pitman arms...and had it as a roller...needing brake fluid for pressure. It was great and my buddy Rich...picked up the tab for lunch. It was cool. Then...I got home...finished body work on my own bus...and got it ready to move Monday morning. Cleaned/swept out the garage.

Monday...Towed the bus to West Covina for the trade deal...(remember this bus did not run, not title, and had some significant rust in it....lots of work)...got a real nice lowered Cal. Style Ghia in its place on BRM's and low-profile tires. Titled and taged to October....Ill clean her up...maybe shoot a nice quick paintjob on her...and turn her for some $$$ for my coupe project....or something else that may pop up. :) Spent all day w/ my daughter...Chloe...that was cool too.

Busy, busy, busy....and im tired...need to go to bed. :)

Pretty much 'finished' the interior of the Peter Beater. Ready to hit Billetproof on Sat. I think it needs a new home. If it doesn't sell there, it'll be in the classifieds next week.

I got "ho'd" by a bunch of "friends", and made MUCH less progress on "Plan B" than anticipated.:(

The brakes are done, the wiring's half done, and the motor/trans is sitting in the car waiting for me to make mounts. I'm waiting for a babysitter so I can go out there!

I moved seven non-running vehicles and leveled the ground for the 36-ton of stone coming today. Re-Stacked sheetmetal parts and relocated, moved lumber pile, mowed grass did minor landscaping, moved 9 backhoe loads (Ford 550) of cut wood and split(by hand) 6 cord, stacked all but last two loads, cut another tree and removed the long straight stuff for milling & lathing later, planted 3 sycamores,etc....

Got moved into my new home, and thereby went from a garageless apartment to two car attached heaven...

Now I just have to convince my girl that the garage is for my projects and our cars go on the street....gonna be a tough sell, wish me luck.

Flaked a roof. Nothing too crazy - but it's cutting into the time I wanted to be spending on my '55 Fairlane gasser.
