Should be a blast, think we'll have to take in the drags Friday, DANG, s'gunna be fun. It's always cool to visit with everybody...

The "BadGuys" show is actually the weekend before GoodGuys.

I plan to be out at Speed World for the drags on Friday, out at GoodGuys Saturday and Sunday and at ElPolacko's gig on Saturday night. I should be out with my orange '57 Chevy Gasser.

  3. My pops said no problem with showing the basics of leading. He will bring his tools and you just need to supply the tourches and the panel you want done. I can't wait for the open house, it always kicks ass.

Sounds cool, that'll be interesting! Oh yeah don't forget the strippers dressed like catholic school girls and naughty librarians too.

I'll be out at the swap meet trying to sell off the excess F-1 pickup parts and some others. I'll have my sign out so stop by and say "hello". Good conversation is always welcome. I'll have my note paper, so I can remember who stopped to say hello. It should be interesting time. I might even get some time to go look at real, running cars! I'll also have the ice chest with lots of water if you're thirsty. Yes, I said water, cause I'm driving.

I think Elp said something about girls and "blow" torches about he would have to confirm that.

What will be in your swap space so I can some by and say hi. I will be driving a 32 5 window coupe in surface rust with bullet holes in it.

    Hot Rod Ron,
I don't know the swap space number yet. I have the trailer with the big stuff on it and a small table in front with chair, ice chest and me. Oh yeah, the black poster tripod with the sign. See you there. Swap meet is on the South side on the berm.

Hope this comes out rite, first time to post.
Rite now I'm planning to go.
Leaving KC at 0dark30 on thur.morn, down I35 to OkC, then west to Amirrilo or Tucumcarie thurs nite. On into Scottsdale Fri nite.
My daughter and grandkids live not far from Westworld.
I'll be driving my 33, but I do have some concerns, it's new, been on the street since Sept. 9, but I've been pounding it, I've got 2600 mi. on it , and I'm confident of my work, but it's still pretty new.
If there's someone going that's taking that route, and your interested, let me know, I'm traviling alone.:)

I'm up here in Prescott Valley and have never been. Would it be worth it to show up? Is there a swapmeet?

Yup, there's a swap meet. South side of West World on the berm. They have a car corral for selling cars also. I've never been to the swap meet so I can't say how good it is. I'm selling parts this year so I'm there. I've been to the show once. It should be worth the trip down from Prescott Valley. Admission is $15 I think and Westworld charges for parking. Check out the Good Guys website for more details.

With so many HAMBers coming it would be worth it to meet the people you converse with on here. It makes a whole lot of difference when you've met the person in the flesh rather than just "on the internet".

dehudso. YES there is a swapmeet and alotta cars for sale , there is also supposed to be a swapmeet at the fri night drags at speedworld .The swapmeetat goodguys is like anyother , some guys bringing parts out just to get rid of at some great prices , other you hear well on ebay this goes for 7,000 buxs .And ya gotta shake yer head and wonder ,why they dont just post it on ebay if they can get big buxs for a 40 dollar part .Every year at that swapmeet, i have hauled stuff home of one kind or another .
If i lived in prescott valley i would make the trip , hell i am about 40 mins south of you in north phx and its not really thats far .
I will say this with all the stuff planned for not only that event but everything else , the open houses ,the drags , etc plan on the whole weekend , It the last big phx show of the year !
The shw is the only one i attend all year where the host club is nice friendly and actuallly thanks you for being there when you get there and when ya leave .
WOW sounds like i work for them or somthing but NO its just a good show every year in my humble opinion .

The backlot misfits basically ARE HAMB'rs. Find a bunch of screwballs in the back and they are probably from the HAMB.

Dude, Auto Core had less tools in their whole shop then I have in my HOME shop, but if you notice, thier shit was C@@L. Cool isn't bought with money. I will look at a well built rat rod ANYDAY over a 250k goldchainers car. We all have different tastes, but the "Over the hill gang's" shop tours have been weaker and weaker EVERY year. Might just cruise out to yours and look, but wife and I and about 20 cars/guys we run with have decided that the tours have sucked so bad the last 2 (at least) years, we would rather just go raise hell. Hell, I think I would rather take a nap then drive on the snoozefest tour. It's become "over the hill". Wake up guys.

"I appologise in advance to S.R.I. for not having a shop full of tools to keep your interest. Just 10,000 sq/ft of shop space, two dogs and some worn out cheap machinery. Come to have a good time, bring your own beer, we will have a low key hangout and if I come up with something in the mean time usually a "hands on" demo of some sort. "

    always up for suggestions.

Yep, thats who. It was a "decent" thing the FIRST year. Second year it was just a rerun, and you are talking about someone who just loops episodes of Titus on tv all day, lol.

Hey El P, how about spagetti wrestling? I think you might know the current west coast champ. You could charge admission for that!

  24. As it stands,

Open house starts loosley around 4pm, Saturday the 19th. I should be there earlier if anyone is inclined to show up early.

    Demos are going to be:

#1 Patch panel installation on a 1927 Ford Roadster. This will include TIG welding and possibly some Oxy/Acc welding tips, Hammer welding, slap spoon usage etc.

#2 Hot Rod Ron SR is bringing up his tallow and paddles to show us all some basics in body leading. I am pretty excited about this one!

As always this is hands on tech.

Food is simple, Scooter, if you would be so kind as to help out with the burger flipping section again, I may have a helper for you. Hotrod Hef (AKA T-bucket Rick) has volunteered to help out.

Anyone have extra questions, please feel free to call. 602-278-6800

    Steve

  25. Your obviously a fan of Auto Core, thats fine but there is no reason to tear down "high dollar" rides just because you don't like them. Good guys wasn't put together just to please you anyway. I am sure there were plenty of other people in the tour that were just as disapointed to see stuff you thought was cool. Just way to many different types of people in this hobby and just as many different ways to build a car.

Hmmm, funny, I thought Rod Palmer was expensive (more upscale) stuff, and said theirs was good too, but I guess it's just easier to have selective reading.
