Off topic Roadrunner. The guy working on it is finding one. The owner is a millionaire. He owns the family business that is over 100 years old. A steel supply company that used to sell industrial gasses and welders. Now they just sell steel and manufacture parts for different manufacturers. You can still take them little jobs to do as well. Around 100 employees. They have every kind of machine available today in the metal working industry. They also have a large commercial powder coating operation set up as well. His dad used to go back in the shop when he was alive and get the piece you needed when buying steel stock. He was a hell of a wood worker as well. He was legally blind. He lived 3 blocks away and would walk to work.

  4. I think the guy that built that did some work on my last project. Using 3/4 in bolts for filler rod. Pop rivets holding 1/8 in aluminum to cut bumper brackets.
Cut it all out and did it right.

They did nothing on the seat bottom to fix the problem. It`s missing one spring on the driver`s side and two springs on the passenger`s side.

  8. When you have 5" bumper bolts, with 1" of thread, just use 23 flat washers and a couple of 3/4" nuts to take up that slack!

Lots of seat frames get rotted like that around here in Wisconsin, old upholstery holds moisture and most of those frames were never painted when new. I know I had to make one seat out of 3 for my '57 Chevy, but even it wasn't as bad as that one.

I'm not that shocked to see one that rotted, but the fact that someone actually recovered it blows me away. Didn't even attempt to patch it up. Someone got the old skins off of that frame, saw how bad it was, said "fuck it" and just covered it back up again to avoid the work. That one would be a damn difficult fix.

  10. I thought you were going to say that was from the Belvedere that got burried in Tulsa OK in 1957, AKA miss bevedere. I hate to see what the Road Runner looks like!

The Roadrunner looks good from the underside. It was up on a 2 post hoist.
