Those inline filters can be put in backwards, make sure you read which end is "IN"

good for you! but I strongly suggest you get a metal filter instead of that glass one. The metal ones don't leak or break, and they actually filter the fuel.

We've had problems with the glass filters, especially the cheap ones. They tend to leak if the o-rings aren't "just right".
I too would recommend a metal canister-type filter. If it doesn't look "cool" enough, paint it with some metal flake rattle can.

  14. Before you know it, you'll overhauling the engine! X2 on the glass filter, they can break and leak on ya. Go with the metal. Get the hose clamps tight and make sure you run the engine and check for leaks before you take off.

Yes the metal filters are kind of foolproof, and yes the glass filters have no performance potential. Having said that I've had a glass filter on my 46 cj since about 1978 with no problems. Route it safely, change the o-rings when they rot. Most pre 50 cars had glass sediment bowls in the fuel system.
Disadvantage to a push-button tranny, nowhere to mount that skull or 8-ball shift knob.
