It's dumb question time again! never installed a thermostat in a 302 before.....does the spring side go towards the firewall....or the other way around? I installed it spring side towards the firewall....but I'm paranoid that it goes the other way. I mean...doesn't the water flow from the pump, up to the manifold.....and isn't the "sensor" part of the thermostat on the spring side?
Sounds like you've got it right: the spring and sensor pellet need to be in the manifold... Bottom would fit in the manifold...
