I bought a model A pickup bed with a T axle under it and these wheels welded to the axle flange, they look like they were pretty cool back in the day. black maybe with silver or white painted on the spokes. Think they should be saved, or scraped?
6-lug...aren't those just every-day early Chevy wheels? And being welded to he hub....yeah, I'd scrap em.
They're Chevy artillery wheels. If they're 17" they're probably not worth bothering with. 15" and 16" sizes are desirable for the lowrider bomb guys, but having been welded I don't know if they can be saved.
Normally I'd say save them, but I don't see how you get them apart without wrecking something. I mean, people weld steel every day, that shouldn't be a big deal, but it's like the lug holes were never there to begin with on those things.
I wouldn't scrap them. Paint them up and hang them above your couch. The beautiful thing about wall art is it can be bent and rusty underneath...
They are 16" wheels, I figured maybe the center would be good, but they have to be repaired by the wheelkid to be useable again??
Good 16's bring $100 each and 15's bring $150. I would use those for stands in your garage for grinders, vises, etc.
Practice pinstriping on them. Duplicate the original design. You are already good. But practice makes perfect.
