So... yeah... I am currently getting ready to head out for the Pacific Outpost. I will be absent from a machine capable of doing anything more than posting and checking email for at least 36 hours. Of course, while this is going on, more craziness happened with the server and I have to run a script that will prolly take a week to execute. What does this mean? The site might get slow or act funny for moments at a time. I should have an office setup by Wednesday at the latest... and once done, I will be able to fix all of this. I just wanted to give you guys an update in case shit gets weird.
Stay safe Ryan, let us know that you hit the outpost before going to play in the sand. You know you are old if you remember looking at the TV test pattern in the morning before the station came on and the national anthem was played at the start of the broadcast day. Then the reverse at the end of the day. I remember in the mid 50's my sister and I would stand at attention in the living room when the anthem played in the mornings when we were home. That was in the days when we had one channel here. We never had to get up and change channels for our parents.
So far is only Squirrel that stepped up and claimed the age ... I swear my tv was only broken from time to time ...
Nope, that's the late model 50 star flag. On a 48 star flag, the star's are lined up vertically and horizontally, 50 star flag's, the star's are staggered.
My favorite was the video at the end of the night,,,,,,High Flight . With the poetry and the F104 Starfighter,,,,,always made me think . What a wonderful country we live in,,,,,,we have a lot of people watching over us ! Tommy
The local news station used to have a PSA: "It's 10PM, do you know where your children are?" Haven't seen that in a while.
Hope your off for fun with the family ! Don't worry about the site - heck we need to be out in the garage thrashing anyway !
You had a TV? When we finally got one, it had a big convex glass prism that hung in front to make the image larger. Safe travels, Ryan. I'm sure the mods will be on 24 hour vigilance until you get settled in. Don't forget your sunblock.
