Tossed alot of FE performance engine parts years ago. Before that I gave away a 241 Red Ram Hemi to a buddy. Oh the humanity.

I'm sure there must be something I threw away over the years but I couldn't tell ya what it would be. I have always been a buyer/seller type of person... I really need to start being more of a seller.

if you throw a good part away it is like tossin money in the trash. I'm half Okie and half Scottish. can't throw nothing good away.:D

Back in the day, I had a '66 Mustang coupe. It had dealer A/C installed. Ripped it out and gave it to a guy for free. That was back when fast cars didn't have A/C. 1981.

My dad told me about the day he threw away his halibrand magnesium wheels off our flathead dragster because people kept telling him how ugly and old they were...

ooh! I remember one. I moved from a house with a back yard shed and small garage to a fu....... an apartment. I threw away a 1968/69 Pontiac GTO reclining power passenger seat.... I think it was power... definitly reclined. I found that at the junk yard and lugged it around to swap meets for years. sucker must have weighed 100 lbs. dropped it once from overhead storage behind my back and one of the feet put a nice 6" gouge in my back. got a cool scar. chicks dig it. it was cursed.

The only thing I can remember just tossing away, and not scrapping for money was a 1933 Ford Tudor back half and top. That was a good 25 years ago and it was too rough to do anything with, today it would be a HAMB save. Bob

When I got divorced in 1972, I had to move out in a hurry. The only place to go was a buddy's house on a very small lot. Left a roller '35 Ford 3 Window coupe (fenders and all) in the garage. When I finally went back to get it, it was gone. I asked my ex-wife what happened, she said that she went out one day and it was gone. She didn't care and didn't tell me or anyone. Hopefully it went to a better place.

A Colombia 2 spd rear, a pair of real magnesium 5 spokes, a 429 Cad/Turbo400, a Model a Tudor body that was rust free, a '51 Plymouth Cranbrook 2dr Hrdtp, a Model couple body, chopped, that had the roof brazed on (no, I didn't do that), there's more but I'm feeling sort of bad right now...

  18. If it was brazed on and the chop was a little rough I may have been responsable for that. I used to always braze them when I was young, and they were alwasy a little rough (although I hate to admit that).

I got $75.00 for mine and had to tow it!!!!!

In about '65 I took a set of '57 Chevy skirts and an outside sunvisor to the dump and watched a dozer push dirt over them.

A perfect 57 chevy one piece bumper and a corvette split manifold that I left at home when I went to the service and my Dad tossed out while I was gone.

  21. A 'very low rust' '54 Chevy 2dr 210 that I had to beg a buddy at work to 'buy' for $50 back around 1986.......

.....along with a lot of other parts, wheels, '57 rear ends, etc.

I saw a guy back in the early 70's take an (OT ) car 1970 Superbird and remove the nose and wing and toss them. Said he wanted a Roadrunner. Who knew

:eek:A huge stack of 45 records that I used for target practice back in the 70's! I thought, "I will never listen to this old stuff again." Everyone had moved on to new stereo component sound systems. Hung the 45's on nails on an old Cottonwood tree down by the river. Thought it was fun as hell to watch them explode from the carnage caused by a lever action 30/30 as I slaughtered Jan and Dean, Ventures, Astronauts, Kingsmen, Elvis, Everly Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Hailey and the Comets, Danny and the Juniors, and even Buddy Holley... What the hell was I thinking? Now I have one of those Crosley turntables out in the den (my garage) and I would love to have the collection of music that I compiled over the 50's and 60's. Dumb Ass! ...My legs are double jointed now from repeatedly kicking my own ass over this on an almost daily basis! Still have the rifle, still target shoot with it... still remember what I did with it everytime I take it out shooting.

How about the 40 coupe roller that I dumped in a canyon after I pulled the seat and ring & pinion out of it. This was in the 60's and I still can't believe I did it.

Well I didn't exactly throw it away, but as a teenager in '73 I sold a very straight and complete '32 grill for $20 in beer money.

Then, that same Summer, there was the complete '32 Vicky body I let go to the crusher bcuz I was too busy drinkin' beer and chasing girls. What a knucklehead!

I did that in 1978 following a divorce and my big car accident. 332, 352, 406, 390 engine parts galore, factory hi-po headers, a slew of '64 Galaxie body parts. I had nowhere to stash it and was in no shape to give it away, it all went to the landfill.

I was going to be selling a nice '65 Biscayne body many years ago to a local guy. I used to buy cars for the motors and deal out the rest.

He never shows up... I call his house the next day, his sister tells me he was killed on his motorcycle. I was so rattled I just took the car to the scrap yard and got my $30.

Beaner -- you crack me up. Tossing your linguinni and clams, who'd want to keep them anyway?
In 1971, when I was 17, I watched the city haul my 40 Ford coupe away cause a neighbor complained about it sitting next to the house. I had know where else to put it and was in a bind financially, so, I let it go.

I didn't really toss them, but in the late 60's while I was in the Army my mother sold her house and moved. Little did she know that in a small outbuilding behind the house I had a complete 354 and 392 hemi. When I managed to get home on leave, the building had been torn down and the new owners claimed no knowledge of any property inside the building.

Kinda gives me a sick feeling every time I see a hemi for sale. In the 60's they weren't hard to find and could be bought cheap. Not today!
