I took my son to daycare in my '53 the other day. As we were walking in, somebody said "nice car". Max (my son) said, "it's not a car, it's a hot rod!"
When he was little, he used to line up his hot wheels according to whether it was a "hotod", "car show", "truck" or "other".

HA HA! My kids do the same thing.....one row for hot rods, one for customs, one for stock vehicles and one row for bikes:D

My kids are hooked on Tales of the Rat Fink and pretty much know that movie from start to finish "crazy hot rodders!"

  5. My dad had a Buick I felt the same way about when I was a kid, he sold it anyways, I still have a small resentful spot about that. Kids don't forget.

  6. Sounds like you got her started off on the right foot.

I have 14 yr old twins, boy & girl.

My sons says, "Dad I don't want a Model A, I want your '55 Chevy."

My daughters says she is ready to learn to weld.

I think she is going to the Texas Thaw with me Saturday.

And just yesterday on the way to school I was telling her about the old TV show Kids Say The Darnest Things.

    Very funny!

  8. My girls are 10 and 13 now. I used to take my oldest to lots of car shows when she was real little. She always liked it. We did Back to the 50's a few times and The CC Summer Nats. Lots of Mustang-Ford shows when I had a Mustang. I had a 66 Shelby and the girls LOVED to ride in that. They were sad when I sold it. The oldest wants a Mustang convert when she starts driving. They like my 40 Merc but say they miss the GT 350H. I do too.
I used to ride bikes alot and ALWAYS wore a helmut. When they would see some guy not wearing one they would say "He's got bad brains". Kids!!

When my son Luke was about 2 or 2-1/2, he heard the song, "Mustang Sally"... except he heard it as, "Mutsnang Salad". For a couple months he would ask Mama if we were gonna have Mutsnang Salad for dinner.

For the longest time my son(6) has always referred to any pre-smog car as a Cadillac as we drove our 62 Cadillac daily. He has always somehow known that every pre-smog car is referred to as a "cool car". Driving down the road, window down, he'll point out a car on the road "Hey Daddy, did you see that cool car?"

Another one that he's always known to do. Driving through a particular intersection, it has a rise going through it, I gas it a little before the rise, giving him the light tummy. He laughs, then yells "Daddy, that scared the **** outta me!" It's almost as if we both expect the same from each other whenever we encounter that intersection now and he always finishes with, "We don't have to tell Mommy do we?"

I just changed the channel on my TV from the Family channel to P*** Time on Speed. I was thinking my three year old daughter was going to have a fit. She turned to me and said "Hey! I like this show!". She's Great!
