I'm concidering selling my model a project I've got roughly 4500.00 in it. What would be the best way to advertise Here, Ebay, or local for best results? I'm not possitive I want to sell but I haven't touched it in 5 months and money is getting tight. it has a t-bucket frame from speedway,4" drop axle channeled 7" in front alot in rear, rebiult 350 chevy and rebiult 350 turbo not professionally done I did all work and am FAR from profissional.needs electrical windshield floor finished and seats also batt.,fuel tank, and shifter to be drivable as is also may need other stuff not thought of at moment.. this is NOT an advertisement yet, if Idecide to sell I will put in proper place, just lookin for help on my desiccion.. thanks in advance..... here is a couple photos in its current state and I have good doors and current okla title...... family in photos not included in price.....but make offer and I'll see what I can do...LOL
If that's your mom and dad in the pictures it looks like they approve of your project. Why not get it finished and give them a ride before selling it. I can picture them being really proud of you if you saw this project through to the finish. I'd be willing to bet that if you did finish it selling would be the last thing on your mind. Frank
actually that is all my in-laws in those photos,But my parents do not want me to wsell as they know how much work I've already put into it...and my wife always leaves the decissions up to me...after readin the above link Iam really havin my doubts now...
If you can store it out of the weather for no or little $, then you may wish to hold onto it. It takes real determination to pull a car together and the steps you have already done count for a lot!
No way, man. Unless it is to feed or house your family, I would humbly (but strongly) recommend that you keep this car and get it to the point that you can take your family for a ride. After that everyone can be involved in the decision and "feel the loss". But, if you really have to let it go...PM me.
I got frustrated with my 29 last year and tried to sell it. Half heartedly I'll admit but I had the ads up. I'm so happy I had second thoughts because a few guys here but a bug in my ear to not do it. It was what I needed to get it to the next step. Don't sell it. But if decide too...send me a note first.
personally i would finish the car , but sometimes family does come first , you could just toss it up on egay with a shit load of zeros attached and it may give you a little more time to think things over , or someone might buy the car with all the added zeros and get youself lots of cheese quick!
I think you are retarded if you never get it running and then sell it. At least get it running, enjoy it a little, then sell if you decide you should. But selling it and never having run it, well, youll regret it forever. Where in Oklahoma are you? If your close, Id like to come by to see it, or you can come over and Ill take you for a ride in the the 35 (Id have to put it back together though).
I think you should get it in driveable condition. I bet after you drive it you will change your mind about selling . Take your time, once it's gone its too late.
I would say sell the kids to Arab slave traders and keep the car . Just kidding ...kinda...sorta ..maybe .
still undecided on sell, But leaning towards keeping it, Money is deciding factor......also I live in Mannford which is 30 miles west of tulsa for those that where curious.....
Gotta do what ya gotta do.....another car can always be built... I too am thinkin' of selling my hotrod......and investing to $$$.
I know this isn't helpful but if I sold things that I hadn't touched in 5 months I'd have nothing left.
I'd get it running and driving first, you will get more out of it dollar for dollar that way. I haven't regretted selling anything yet, every time I sell something I put 4 more in its place. I have about 15 cars right now. ha ha ha I like the build more than having the finished car though. I haven't cut on a car in a couple of months and I was jonesin' to work on something, so I dug a new koi pond in my yard instead. Ha Ha Ha
its heartbreaking to hear that you decided to sell your model A. I would talk to some of the guys on here FIRST, then look through HEMMINGS MAGAZINE, ETC. to see what type of advertising is best for you. good luck with everything. -RSC
