I fabricated the license plate bracket...picked up a boat deck light at the marina for the license light...the STOP light is from a '27 buick.

Doc has a very cool third brake light in his sedan. I have pictures of it but they are at home.

    Probably my favorite!

The Pair A Dice cruiser drag plate has two dice on it, with a total of 14 dots on the dice.
I am drilling in 14 red LED lights and making a box to seal it in the rear window of the 54F100. Should be cool and effective.
I will some day post pictures .

  11. I like Kirby Kennedy's, no pic, but I am sure he has a pic of it. His dad made it I think.

I don't have a pic of mine ,but in TRJ #37 they have a real good pic of it though. My dad made it from scratch and gave it to me for Christmas last year.

I really dig the wig wag stop lights. I have a smaller one that has an arm that points up and waggles but I don't remember where I put it!! You have some rare lights. What did you do to make it work on 12Vs?

On my '48 Plym I just rewired so the "Middle brake light is the only one" an almost OEM 3rd light.

That's really slick, and just what I was looking for. That's a great inspiration for a common problem. Thanks. (Now I won't look like C9!)

  17. Be careful bud.;)

All kidding aside, so far I think IBB41 is the winner . . . not that we were having a contest or anything like that.
All the arcs match etc., very tasty.

I got a little something in the works, but it'll be after the holidays before I can get to it.

All Ford, not much aluminum if that helps....:D

Thank you...thank you...I would like to thank Ratmotor for finding and selling to me..lol I thought this one from a semi-trailer would look good too, I was hoping I could find a match to it for a pair of tail lights.

The trunk mounted brake light on the 40-48 Chrysler products(and some later) ARE the only brake light.
The taillamps on the sides are used as taillamps and turn signals and are not wired for brake light function on original cars.
This safety feature was pioneered by Mopar and used for 10+ years and then discontinued not because it was ineffective but because the motoring public thought it was odd. 30 years later it becomes law to equip all vehicle swith high-mounted center brake lights. Ain't life grand?

I always wondered why if two brake lights aren't easily seen three would be the solution.

Adding a 3rd brake light to a traditional car???? Why not just throw on some reflectors and some flags....go ahead, add some airbags too.....

If people can't see 2 brake lights, then they just can't see you at all.

Yeah I knew what they were. I'm a light freak.

My wig wag uses 6V electromagnetic coils that switch the power back and forth for the movement.

Tradition is fine, but getting your work crashed or you killed because someone didn't see you isn't. The idea behind a third light is to put it in a triangular position relative to your other lights to help to be seen. Maybe the idiot on his cell phone will see you then. See the tragic threads that run here regularly about HAMBers being hit. I agree in this case more is better and when did anyone ever have "enough" safety devices? You do have hydraulic brakes, right?

  27. Nowadays, people expect to see a brake light at eye level.

In my experience, they do help.

  28. Think about how small the typical roadster/coupe etc. lights are.
    Many times, fairly low-set.

With standard bulbs they don't show up well at all.

I think having the 3rd brake light on a separate circuit helps as well.

If a guy or gal has a car with only two brake/taillights, it doesn't bother me.

I think the key thing with the 3rd light is to blend it into the overall scheme of things so it's not particularly obvious when it's not lit.

Don't you have some modern stuff on your car?

    350-350-9"?

Or do you prefer looking at taillights....:D

  29. if you drive at night with your lights on arent the two taillights on? so when you brake they just get brighter, no additional stop lights illuminate to warn motorists behind you without a 3rd brakelight. im not a fan of adding extra lights and whatnot to vehicles, but more and more people who drive these days are just plain retarded or have an inability to pay attention.

I'm using a Ford script logo light designed for a trailer hitch on the '29 CCPU.
