Yep,... It was really an amazing place.

Why,.... Yes,... Yes you do !

Your right Jim,... you should get over to take a look at it before somebody snaps it up,.... And I hope someone gets it soon,... The temptation to "throw caution to the wind" and try to work out a stupid deal, is becoming a little unbearable,...

I have a extra 428 CJ sitting under a bench, that gives me a big smile lately, every time I walk past it,.. And I have thought about this car A LOT !!!.....

NOPE!,.... (snapping back to reality)... I just can't !,.. But I would love to see this ol' War Horse run again !

Dennis. believe me, I have thought about it since seeing this thread but I have to snap back into reality as well. I am not only not making much progress on any of my projects but I seem to be going backwards.

If I had more time and money believe I would surely park it in my barn. If I can't have it though, the selfish side of me says, I would like to see it run at one of the local tracks like Milan once again.

Someone will snap it up, that is for sure-Jim

You know you want to. That 428 CJ would just fall in there, and can you imagine what it'd be like the first time you dumped the clutch and hammered that loud pedal? I can see the daylight under the front wheels and you'd be grinning for a week. Go for it! Bring that jewel back to life! We're pulling for ya!

Ya' know,.... This ain't helping!:cool::D

Besides I guess there might be a guy sniffing pretty hard at it, while we speak. And it's like jimdillon said,... I don't get as much done as I use to,.. And sometimes I feel like I'm going backward a little.

Whoa! You've got an "extra" 428 CJ just sitting around???

This thread reminds me of when I wanted to drop a 460 Lincoln engine into my '56 Ford to create a quiet sleeper. Never did it, real life got in the way, but I can still dream. :D

The CJ is a nice option but I am not a purest and fortunately I am not rich or my stude would move to the country place while I stuffed an older olds motor under the dash. It would probably only make 12 second passes but that's all the faster our first Vicky was.

25% would have put that Hilborn scoop in the windshield. I just figured it was a typo.

Actually unless there was a rule change sometime in '64 it may have run in altered class until '65 anyway. Depends on how the techs interpreted the rules if it ran NHRA. As it was once said "Rules are made to be challenged".

  11. well even if the guy bought it for $2800, its his to resell, we all make a buck or two every now and then, cant fault him for being the first to put down the benjamins.....

    Well,...

I tried to get a trade going,.. but no dice. Here are pictures taken just days ago, looking cleaner and more like it should,.... It's up for grabs now on "that sight", so I'll be watching it. hopefully somebody gets it that will, bring it back to it's former glory.

For what it's worth,... I believe it was bought well,... If I would have had the extra coin (or could have worked out a trade),... it would be in my barn right now.:)

I see it's got an old B-29/B-50 navigator's seat in it, with the front lip cut off flush, Neat!

That must be up-Cape because I had (have) a straight axle car that I bought in in 79 and there were none on the lower Cape, and I don't remember seeing any in the Hyannis area on Mary Dunn road where we would street race.

Then they were a rare sight as the pro-street thing had taken over...
