My buddies are predicting I will own quite a few more cars after joining this site... Bought some parts off of Reggie out in Hutto, TX last week and he mentioned the board so I thought I would check it out. Looks like some awesome projects going on!

I'm definitely a car nut and hope to one day build a nice Model A sedan with a Ford 2.3 turbo motor in it, hopefully with information gleaned from this forum... I've built a few cars, including an '89 Toyota Supra I built last year that I ended up going a little crazy on (533rwhp/497 ft-lbs) and an '89 Ford Festiva I'm building with some friends for the Grassroots Motorsports $2009 Challenge. Past rides include a '66 VW with a nice patina and a sleeper '93 Ford Escort wagon I did an engine swap and turbo setup on for a nice 3x power increase :D

I'm currently working on a '70 Valiant I bought from a 16yr old who thought he could do bodywork and "shaved" the trim by filling the holes with bondo:rolleyes:, the bumpy body and "rally" stripes are growing on me though...

Working on a disc front/wide 5 pattern swap right now so it'll actually stop and has the right pattern for the 17" wheels I've got in the garage. Planning an EFI swap using Megasquirt and a turbo down the road, little mix of old and new, as well as an interior refurbish. Still debating on the exterior, on one hand a straight body and some Sublime green paint would look really nice, on the other I could drive it anywhere in bondo buggy form and not have to worry about it. Plus I hate washing cars...

  2. Welcome aboard. Good luck with the Valiant . I had a 64 -2 door back in the 80's.

Thanks guys! My craigslist luck continues, picked up a fully rebuilt 8.25" axle with 3.55 gears and a posi last night on the way to the dragstrip for a song and a dance!

Reggie-thanks for the heads up, this site is addicting, I've been on here more than I'd like to admit the past week or so :)

Back with a more HAMB-friendly '53 Chevy I picked up from Jason at Austin Speed Shop last week:

Have a 2003 5.3L truck motor and 4l60 in the garage I want to drop in and along with that new rear end for open driveline (probably scrounge up a cheap 70s camaro rear). Front disc brakes and some other minor stuff, probably go a little lower too. Want this to be a reliable cruiser for me and the family so I'm not going to go too crazy!

    Few more pics:

Not much progress on the car thus far, been working on other stuff. I did pick up an 86 jag xj6 front clip cheap, will start a thread in the main section once I get going...
