I agree with John but I've heard that they were used for the 409's as well because they shared the same 4 speed trannys

Mark ,yep the 61 used the bell 553 were the later 409's had there own special one. The 553 were used on early corvettes with higher HP ratings. Don't you have one on your vette Mark

Best TRUE barn finds I ever saw with my own eyes were: '35 Plymouth coupe, dead stock and untouched; '23 Stude "Big Six" touring, so pristine, it still had its original lacquer and canvas. Both times, I felt like I'd stepped out of a time machine!

 

Why is it that I only find useless junk in old garages. I'm so jealous.

 

I have learned lots from "Girls" over my 40 years . . .

I would start by doing an itemized listing on exactly what you think is there, then later furthur research will tell you more info on exactly whats there,...right now its just a cluster----, but it looks like the components deserve to be itemized properly,..
(take it from an appraiser that does this stuff daily)
