    4t64rd has it figured out.

The seat doesn't match the color of the tank/fenders which also don't match the frame... and the billet rim, well this is the HAMB and I think that billet just scares us anyway (appologies to C9 in advance).

On the other hand Fat*** makes the best point of all - it's his, and he did the work (we ***ume) - let him enjoy it. If everyone had good taste this web site wouldn't exist, lol.

I only have one *****,,,,,,that rear hub/taillight thing is one of my ideas. I'm sure he stole it from me, the ******* :) ........I was going to put something like that on the hubs of a car to "clean up" the lines. That way you wouldn't have to put the turnsignals and junk on the body of the the car.....I was thinking it would be better on a Kustom, that would let the smooth lines of a fat chopped and channeled car look really slick. Trouble is I like fender-skirts and that poses a problem with this. And as for putting them on a rod, well I kinda like hot-rods when they look gnarly and mechanical.....I really shouldn't think outloud.

Anyone who thinks the single side suspension won't work doesn't know what a Vespa is, or a lot of other motorbikes that have used it.

It would look way better with a wire front wheel, or just matching wheels, and the colors are, well lets just say they all clash with the purple bike next to it!

Ex scooter rider, Vespa inspired font fork, Mod color scheme. LOL

Gotta give props on the "imagineering" that went into it though.

That was in the British magazine,Back Street Heros,a couple months ago,
with pics of the guy riding it.

    Definately not my first choice,
but the guy got his thumb out of his ***,turned off his computer,
and actually created something that is nicely finished, and runs.

    --------

Then Jesse Rook steals the guys ideas, presents them as his own,
    and everyone thinks he's a creative Genius.

  7. The guy has plenty of skill, but I don't dig his sense of style. 4t64rd pointed out my biggest gripe with the thing: it's a bunch of ideas and styles that, while cool on their own, don't work together for ****. I can appreciate the work that went into the single leg front end [it ain't my style, but I dig the creativity nonetheless], and the taillight idea is something I'd be proud to run on a bike [even though the Caddy light is played out, he has a fresh take on it] but the two just don't seem to belong on the same bike. The tank and fender color clashes with frame, which looks anodized. Billet front and a WW 16" out back? Just doesn't seem like that one is too well thought out to me, given the amount of thought and effort that was obviously put into things like the frame and front end.

This is the sort of thing I can appreciate in spite of itself, much like many of Roth's creations [Seriously, I love Roth, and he's influenced me immensely, but let's face it, some of the stuff he came up with was fugly. He always had a theme though, and a definite style, even when it wasn't too easy on the eyes]. Still, it's a damn sight cooler than Rooke's bikes, for a number of reasons.

Overall, I'm not looking to ridicule this guy, or all of his efforts, but I'm not just going to pretend I love it either. As long as it doesn't simply turn into 'he's different, let's laugh at him and make ourselves feel cool!', then criticism is a healthy, useful thing that has to be expected amoung a group of people who are p***ionate about something.

Hey now, other than the front end, color and Cadillac tailights on the rear end it's pretty darn cool!

Exactly. I know it doesn't matter but it's really disgusting to see all of the negative comments that are on here daily. Seems like everyone has an opinion and any others are unacceptable. This place is rapidly becoming no fun because of that.

Whatever...I guess it's my choice to come back on here time and time again, but it just didn't used to be so negative all of the time.

AGREED!!....Everytime I read one of the negative posts around here, I just have to wonder what the persons own garage and projects look like....If they have one...which is very doubtful.

I have seen some respected Old Time HAMBers be extremely negative about other peoples vehicles in the past.
    So its nothing new.
Maybe it is more irritating now because that **** just gets old...
Most of these "look at this ugly piece of ****" treads are useless and full of Drama anyway.

And I think it ****s when they do it, too. It's so hard to find anyone who knows what the word "respect" is anymore. It's a lot easier to comdemn someone else to boost yourself up I guess.

I also agree. I never have understood the need to make a post about something that doesn't suit your taste, when it's not yours. It's one thing when someone asks for an honest opinion about their car, but just to say you don't like something you saw on the 'net is pointless.
Most of the people doing it don't seem to be posting pics of THEIR ride to show what they think cool is, when they post a negative post. Maybe it would stop if that was a requirement....

I'm still waiting for eyeball13 to answer greaseball's question.

Good posts and discussions about style and construction could be helpfull.

But just trying to outdo each other in insulting a builder that isn't here to defend himself is just lame. ( or even if he is here to defend himself...)

RIGHT! Just ripping on something is pathetic. Constructive criticism is something we can all learn from.

****ed up thing is, if this Triumph guy were a known and liked member of the board and someone posted it, there wouldn't be NEARLY this much ******** ('pretty cool but I would paint it blue' or some **** like that). I guess I just paraphrased what SamIYam said about Roth, but the sad 'dogpile' mentality drags down the whole enchilada as far as cars go.

How many of these same people ***** about going to a Goodguys show and being looked down upon because of their primer and steel rims? Guess what, you've just joined that same club of ***holes. They probably thought billet would get them liked by their peers, too.

You know, personally I have less of a problem with people being critical about the work of a well known builder ( Roth, Barris, Boyd, Etc ) who seeks the spotlight.
They arent a easy target like that, and you'd better be ready to defend your point of view to somebody who really likes his work...

    But thats just me...

I suppose so, but until I reach that skill level (which probably ain't gonna happen since I have to have a real job, can't spend money on english wheels and welders and stuff, etc.), I choose to keep my outright low-blow criticisms to myself. It's too easy to run around and **** on everyone else's efforts, especially if they don't know. Trust me, everything posted on this board doesn't make me instantly desire it; not by a long shot.

I pride myself on knowing that anything I would say here, I would say to anyone's face, and I also try to find the positive in everything somehow. That isn't the case for a lot of the message board people in general.
Remember "Portnoy's Complaint": "Every woman has a ****able *****, no matter what they look like".
Maybe I should go back to keeping my fingers shut.

  23. I may seem like I'm dipping in both buckets sometimes... but I have a hard time bagging on something that was thought out, and well executed... sure it's not my bag, but man, if I saw that thing down at the grocery store, and bend the guys ear for an hour about it!

Now... a POS cobbled together "Rat" anything doesn't get as much respect... or any respect for that matter... unless it has stance in spades or something.

Ratrod is a ******** ***le as much as ni*)*)er is. Some guys (I'm being devil's advocate) LIKE black primer and red rims. Maybe they can only afford a ****ty body. So be it. If they can build a decent car other than the sheet metal, and they want to call it a ratrod, who gives a ****. I always felt like a s***bag with my model A becuse it had no emergency brake or side/back windows and I had a hard time making the doors shut...however the front brakes were new '48 Ford repop pieces, the rears were in great shape, frame was boxed with 3/16" hrs stock, everything was welded, but not penetrant tested, anything I thought was weak got an extra gusset or thicker metal (steering box)..but I believed it was sufficient enough to get me down the road in a way that I loved without taking out a mini van full of kids. Thing is, I had fun at no one else's expense and made sure that no one would suffer from my shortcomings. As a dad, a lot of what I do focuses on how it would affect my family. I could not live with myself if I affected someone else's family due to under engineering or trying to cut corners due to cost. Brake products were my first purchases on my Ford and my Buick because I don't want the responsibility of taking someone elses' mom, dad, sister or brother out.

But I digress. This motorcycle is not of my nor most other members tastes. Why is it on this board?! You're wasting HAMBandwidth.

Sometimes I wonder why some things are posted on here and the only answer I can come up with is "just to see how much controversy it will create". This is one example. What does it have to do with traditional rods and customs? Aren't there bike boards for this particular kind of post?
I, for one, like it when a member comes on and shows some progress on a bike he is building. It's just like your close circle of friends, not everyone is doing the same thing, but your interested because they are your friends. To just bring in a controversial car or bike just to stir the pot is O.T. to this board IMO.

Wow. I didnt expect as many responses to this post. I just came across it wondered what people would think of it(which is kinda dumb because I dont really care what people think of my ****). I did read all your posts though and agree (now looking back) that its not very richeous to post negativity on someone elses work. It is a lesson learned and will probably never do it again. That dude could most definitly out engineer my *** on any given day and for that he gets props. I am building my first bike (triumph) from a basket that Ive had since I was 16 or 17 so I still have a ton to learn. To answer whoevers questions I just picked up a different frontend (stock t100) in pretty good shape and havent even recieved yet but if youre really interested ill keep you posted on it. I will also post some mock ups when I get some more parts and it actually looks like a bike. I also have a ton of respect for the old skool hambers on here and didnt mean to piss anyone off. If I could go back I would delete this mother.

Oh... and Hatch I dont have a garage. I live in downtown Chicago. If you have a garage where I live you most likely have a fat*** bank account. Now if you want pictures of my apartment... that I can do. I will be moving to St Louis permanently this summer and hopefully I can resolve that problem. There is one positive about moving to the most dangerous/highest crime rated city in the US...cheaper housing.

  29. It's very, very cool, except for a handful of small problems:

-The fork needs to go straight down
    -Spoked front wheel
    -Different handlebars
    -Single color frame
    -Complimentary color on body

I DO always like seeing HAMBers Triumphs-
What's the trick set-up you plan on running?
    Fork covers?
    Solid black?
I got those "MCM fork covers off e-gay, they look clean.

I'd rather see pics of YOUR PROJECT than of this dudes RIDE, dig?
