....327'vette/4 Speed Muncie, '59 El Camino 327/(Th350) 57 Bel Air 350/4 Speed Muncie, '68 Opel Rekord 350/5 Speed. (Der Autobahn Terror!!! ;-))
All runing, and driven exept the '55 "Gomad" which needs some work.
This car looks like an old custom or street machine to me. The paint job is very old, and the car came like that to Germany in 1985. It used to have General Lee like rims before I got it. It is a real Nomad, with the roof hacked away! (Imagine this!!). The engine is a real '65 Corvette Stingray 327 with 350 hp, and the matching transmission. It has Corvette Buckets and a Buick steering wheel from the 60's. I bought it pretty cheap out of a old garage here in Stuttgart. I always think I have seen the car before in a old magazine, but I'm not sure if it was an American or German. ANYONE knows ANYTHING about this car??? LET ME KNOW! Thanks!
I try to keep the original paintjob, and just might put slicks in the back, and other thin wheels up front.
Also have thought about putting a top back on, if I ever find one. This would make it more worth, but I think it's cool as u can get at the moment. Nomad restorers will probably get a shock, just lookin' at it!:D
    Enjoy:

Some more pics. I was already thinkin' about a straight front end, but the car is just in too good shape. Maybe I put in a 454, as a guy told me he has a original LS6 for sale....(I have to chek if this is true) Maybe someday a tudoor Sedan...and then se my avatar! ;-)

The 57, with **** interior stopped by the fuzz. ;-) also a car that was built somewhere in the 70's in Texas, with posi rear, Muncie M21 LT1 350 4 bolt, bucket seats, and the old rotten mags I have put on. Need higher tires though. Found it at a farm in the mountains in upper Bavaria! (ain't it strange where the stuff is located sometimes?!)

And one pic of my German/American Muscle Car, "The Duke" built by my friend of "oldschool custom works" here in da South.

That Nomad/Pickup looks great! I wouldn't change a thing... Screw the nomad purists . That thing looks killer!
    PS. I want that building..

  6. NICE collection of cars! There is a 55 Nomad around here(from Ohio I believe)that has a similar treatment done to it many years ago.don't think it's the same car but they sure do look it.

I had a friend who built a 56 Nomad like that for a shop truck from a roll over.It looks to me whoevere built this one used the same rear window.I can't see it clearly but it looks like a 58-60 Thunderbird rear gl*** and roof section.I remember all Paul had to do was wrap the "B" pillars slightly inward and it looked like it was factory.

I don't have any pics of it but it was on the cover of Rod and Custom some years ago in a group shot of cars at a national meet.I'll see if I can dig that out.

Opels are German General Motors products.

That Opel is cool and that's the best done '55 El Camino I've ever seen.

    I hate this guy.

The Opel is based on the Camaro- with a shorter wheelbase.
    look at the roof.

here is where the front clip guys go "THAT'S what the power steering mounts on the wrong side of the car are for..."

  9. I,ve had a few of them 1967/70 Opel coupes and a few 1968/71 Holden Monaro coupes and i can tell you the Opel is about a 7/8th version of the Monaro. Tried to find a good pic of a '68 Monaro for you to compare but nothing came up.

Hi Pardners! Thanx fo' da nice words!
    I'm glad u dig 'em!

The Opel Rekord (4 cylinder) and also Commodore (6 cylinder) are german built cars from 1966-1971.
It was sth. for us Germans as for u were the Chevelle or even Impala. They made Sedans Stations and Coupes. They even had sth. like a Muscle Car, called the Rekord Sprint, and the Commodore GS or the GS/E (the first production car with electronic injection) They used Buick Rallye lookalike rims, and fog lamps, and racing stripes, redline tires, tach and other "popular" stuff from back then. It was designed and built in Germany, but not without american influences of course! It's not comparable to a Camaro or anything.
In other countries such as brasil they sold 'em with design changes as Chevy Opala. A great car, and I have 4 Coupes at the moment.
The V8 I have, is custom built. It was never sold with that engine. At least the Opel boss back then had one custom built for him, by his crew.
There was a luxury car called the Opel Diplomat, that had a Corvette like 327 with good heads and around 240 net horsepower, that'S what they did put in for him.
In mine there is a built 350 with 316 real hp on the dyno, with waterpump generator and everything on. It runs like crazy, with little weight. :D
Here: some pics of these cars:
My daily driver withe the injection 6 banger and rallye wheels

Rear view of a Sprint Coupe:

Here is a brasilian Opala SS, that was also converted to a Chevy s.b. Looks a lot like a Nova in front!
and a old Commodore GS 2800 race car in action!

This isn't rilly the oldstyle Hot Rod theme here, but still might be of interest of car freaks here. Some German Muscle Car history.;)

Thanks! Love to hear that! Here are the true car freaks, who are happy, that other guys are happy with their stuff. That's what it's all about. Talk about u'r and other cars. In a german forum I just got bad words, that I am a poser, when I am showing pics of my cars. Stupid I think, just because I spend every ****in cent on old cars, i have a few more than others... No need to be jealous, my house doesn't even have a heating, and my girl done left me:D That's the way it goes!
Love to share my old junkers with true car fans! cheers!

This is crazy. just yesterday I started this thread, and now I nearly couldn't find it anymore. It's a pretty fast and crowded forum....

Why is everything in one category? From tech talk to owner cars, to small talk...???!!!

Does this make sense? Most Forums I know have more different categories.
I think this would make this otherwise great forum, a lot better!

    Why not do this?

No I have not been to any shows in this area. They all seem pretty far away from where I live.
I like the buick. I shipped over here that people call a police car in the United States. It is not H.A.M.B. appropriate. I posted a picture of it on the OITH site.

Do you still have the '63 Olds for sale?

Is that big green thing in background a Marvel 2K spanking machine circa 1958?

    Cool find.

But seriously this "shack" you speak of looks like a serious barn/shop I'd like to have in my back yard.

The green thing is just a trailer, that is pullede by a tractor. There is wheat on it. It's a farm barn. A car farm. ;)

Cool '55. Any interior shots? Got much space between your head and the rear window when you're driving?

WOW, I love these little things!, not to mention the other cars in your barn. The little orange coupe getting gas has such good looks, the 5 spoke chrome wheels fit perfect. Is that you hangin' the *** end out on the yellow one? BTW, how much does it cost you to fill up those Chevies? Wish Nads would post some pics of his Consul Capri, it's like a miniature '59 Chevy. Ever seen any of these English cars in Germany? Thanks for sharing you way cool rides with us.

Glad u like 'em.....:) Yeah, Gas is pretty x-pensive here.. but I need my american lifestyle!
The yellow race car isn't me, it's a very x-pensive original old race car... and it's very rare. It'S used in the historic racing cl***.

I know the Consul Capri. I have seen one stock one here. And a gold metalflake one with a chevy small block, Cragar S/S wheels and 59 Caddy Taillights in france. Cool ride. I have to check if I find the pictures...

I used to have one of those as well.
Here are some pics of it parked next to a Starliner.

And I'm building a newer Capri for myself right now ( too new for the HAMB...)
