I had trouble posting that video and those that don't have FB won't see it. It was from last weekends Rod Run in Longbeach, WA. Common site, cars revving up the engine to please the crowd. Never seen that happen before. Only at Rod Run!

I hope you can see the video.

    Yes, I saw it.
That’s just having clean fun and pleasing people, feel for the driver.
I’d initially thought there was going to me some burn out and something bad would happen.

It left a wet spot! Looks like the kid might have been wearing some of it as well.

It wasn't as bad as wrapping around a pole, jumping a curb and mowing down spectators, but still stupid.

I could see it but couldn't hear it. Anyway, reminds me of watching a Hurst Olds scatter a motor doing a burnout one night during the Street Machine Nationals in Du Quoin, IL back in the late 80's.

The pink stuff might be vaporized trans fluid or pink anti freeze. Anyone know what it was?

I thought it looked like coolant but whatever it was it all came out at once.
There is some debris midair in that picture, likely some flotsam and jetsam in the street.

It had audio on FB. The guy revved it up the first time to around 3500-4000? Then hit again with just a bit more pedal when it let lose.

I wonder if he tried to hold it back on the brakes against the torque converter line lock style

There's a volume control at the top of the video with a slider...that was an expensive rev eh!

  20. Nice looking car. I saw this last night from a different angle, I thought it was coolant, but now not sure. Kinda weird a tranny would blow doing a rev in neutral.

If that is a fan disintegrating, everyone is lucky there was a full hood on the car. That could have hurt someone, seriously hurt someone. It seems like more of an explosion; the street is dry one second and soaked the next.

And something metallic come flying past the cameraman.

There's a slow motion of the happening on FB and it certainly looks like aluminum pieces flying out.

Pretty sure the pink mist is ATF.

Well, for the “got what he deserved “ crowd, what’s the harm in revving up the engine?

    The signs said “rev…”

    They didn’t say “smoke show”

It’s unfortunate that it happened for the driver, and very fortunate the crowd no injuries from debris.

I surely didn’t take it as the driver was being a dumbass.
