...shared by @Fat ASS Whitewalls in @swade41's Thread...Swade had a recent incident at the Track...and thats the point really...that's where the things are pushed to the limits and blowups are expected...glad it wasn't too catastrophic and he was okay...
I've seen a guy do a Drag strip start in a Cruise Night while people are walking around with their kids...when he got out to the road it was full out...couldn't hear anything but full on engine, it was deafening...I have seen several of these venues moved to new locations due to this type of thing...some guys gotta be seen above all the rest...most are cool though and understand its not a drag strip...there are some of these cars at the show that are truly licensed drag cars...again it's their license and they wear what they get...

The other day I found a 5/16 bolt on my driver side running board. My wife noticed that something was wonky around my alternator (I was idling) I looked, killed the engine, ONE 5/16 bolt was on the FAN…..I love my wife…..

All the ones that are saying I wouldn't do this do that next time you're sitting beside a diesel engine at a stoplight
O boy I wonder what you would think if the engine starts to run away ,it is a Big Grenade and Shrap metal.
How many of you have thought about that and I wonder how many here have actually experienced a diesel engine runaway?

I agree, some of those after market fans look sketchy. The fan on my 324 olds is a oem copy IMG_8588.png
