EVER!!!!!!! <img src=http://img64.photobucket.com/albums/v195/akakiller56/wcellphone.jpg> Sorry Toothpick... you know I HAD to!!
is he on the damn PHONE?!?! stuck in mental traffic or ordering gold card parts? I know, he's saying "can you see me now?" hahaha Paul
Well when Hilymay calls I answer...what can I say. You gonna add the one with the aprons/hood? How about the unvealing of the new Johnson's Garage shop truck? I'll let you tell the story this time swampy...
who stole Daddy's sedan to goto the lakes??? <img src=http://img64.photobucket.com/albums/v195/akakiller56/waprons.jpg>
Jim, I really loved my pick up but I decided it was too small for my folks and I to thoroughly enjoy. I have always had a thing for A sedans and after seeing a nice one at El Mirage, Killer and I talked about it and we were at a good spot in the build process to swap bodies. On my way home from the lakes I found a sedan that was complete but too expensive. The second place I looked online that very night I found the '30 sedan body about 45 minutes away, for a decent price. After a discussion with my parents about it they really liked the idea of switching to the sedan, primarily for comfort reasons, so Killer and I brought it home Saturday. It will be full fendered still (cause my dad wants fenders) and we joked about putting wingnuts on the fender bolts so when i borrow it it'll look as it does above... ...and by the way the pickup cab/bed ain't for sale, it's staying in the family, so to speak...
Can't call it a trailer queen! <img src=http://img64.photobucket.com/albums/v195/akakiller56/hauler.jpg> Yep, I was lucky enough to get this sweet cab and bed from Toothpick. No fenders though. She'll get a flatty and a top shift. Some channelin and a bit of a chop..... Thanks Toothpick. <img src=http://img64.photobucket.com/albums/v195/akakiller56/rightside.jpg>
You are welcome Killer. I just wish you would have ended up with my old flatty too. I guess I outta reregister as Toothpick to alleviate any confusion since you won't let my old nickname die... And burndup that "bizzare frame" is a Model A frame, built by Killer, not exactly the 5/8 scale stuff you say he has built eh?
I wouldn't change a thing on that pickup! It's cute, just the way it is. Hey Jason, am I gonna see you at Palmdale on the 6th?? Sam.
Killer, I saved the first shot for inspiration. That is about where my A is going (with a 46 flattie). Thanks for sharing.
whoa...time out..I got the sedan so I could have MORE room, not squash it! How about ~3" outta the top and some black color with a white top (if your bored). No channel. Leave aprons. Don't get me wrong that does look cool, but definitely not the plan.
[ QUOTE ] Sam. We'll be discussin that "cute" comment at the Antique Nats. [/ QUOTE ] Don't tell me you're going to CUT IT UP!! ust minutes after I cut the top off my Model A to chop it... a Model A "restorer" from down the street walked up and said "You ruined it!!!" I replied "It's only ruined if I don't weld it back on!" Sam.
Killer's gonna turn it in to a "Rat Rod"! We're gonna cut the rusted panels off the sedan and weld em onto the pickup to roughin' it up a bit... The older guy I bought the sedan body from (a former hot rod builder who's name and location will remane anonymous) asked us what "rat rods" were...after we explained it to him, he was pleasantly surprised to find out that not all young guys like/want the rat rod style.
[ QUOTE ] he was pleasantly surprised to find out that not all young guys like/want the rat rod style. [/ QUOTE ] WHAT???? OL SKOOL RODZ ROOOOL!!! If you don't chop it 8-inches, channel it 6-inches, and section it another 6 inches what good is it? Kiddin' because my A sedan will have stock body proportions-INCLUDING the factory mudflaps! DAMMIT Jason, how come talking to you is like a REALLY bad cell phone connection? The wagon needs to be picked up and two more months rent have been added since this was close to being finished up. Let's wrap this up.
John, just ****ing with Killer a little. Actually I should have photoshopped the pic of you on the cell! Seriously congrats on the build and you definetly took it to the right builder!
aww come on Jimbo! We'll make a rat rod outta yer c-dan before you know it!!! I think the old man was kinda relieved when he asked us about rat rods... Toothpick and I looked at each other... shrugged... and told him we're prolly not the most qualified to answer that question... we tried our best though.
