For its size this thing hauls ass......enjoy. http://jalopnik.com/5105638/go-kart-blasts-through-the-isle-of-man-at-100%2B-m
Sign me up. I have always wanted to go to the track for a day on one of these. I have not because I know I would have a new hobby. I have enough expensive hobbies right now!!!
I'll just sit here and sip my coca cola, thanks. I don't need to kill myself doing that kind of stuff. Survival rate must be kind of low for those guys. Can't imagine that itty bitty safety gear is a much of a match with the sides of one of those buildings.
That has to be a dream come true for a karter... to legally be able to drive like that on a city street instead of a race track. That's awesome.
I have a friend with a shifter cart that supposedly does over 100...he's told me about the rush.. That's the first time i've seen that view though... SICK!! He wasn't lying.....That really has got to be one HELL of a ride!
wow that's awesome. There are a few karting places around me, I tried them at the new nj motorsports park. they are alot of fun... the rentals aren't shifters tho, but they go about 40-50 which is super fast when you are throwing that thing into a corner.
Killer! I mean that I literaly. I would be dead in a fairly short time driving a shifter cart on man island. I had an enduro cart, and that was plenty fast. One of these things would get me dead so fast, I'd be in my coffin trying to figure out just what happened.
Alot of nascar tracks topspeeds/laptimes are held by go-carts. Just a little too dangerous to race them at those speeds.-Weeks
Driven a few different race cars and rode in few others, but those go carts are fun. Had a buddy with one and would do 80we used to drive it around in a paved road undeveloped community. That's a cool video
here's a funny comment from the comments section: I look hilarious on a cart. I'm 6'5" and when doing a flying lap on even a twin engined cart I adopt a similar driving posture to taking a shit while reading a magazine. I usually put in a great lap only to return to the pit with everyone roaring with laughter. looks like fun but I think I'd rather do that without all the buildings and stuff to crash into.
I raced Karts as a kid. Yes they flip. Ask my twisted frame, axle, "2 piece" seat and brand new motor with the motor mounts sheared off and case split wide open. Never got to shifter karts but would sure as hell like to
that kicks ass! when I was a kid a friend of mine had a couple 5 hp go carts we raced each other all day through the yard on the farm. and yes you can flip one if you climb up the back of the cart in front of you while cornering on gravel i cant remember if we got told to take a break or if it was voluntary but i think we both coulda been killed smashing our uncovered squashs into the dirt at speed man that was fun!
