I had a guy give me a pair of snowmobile skis. I'm gonna fab up brackets that'll bolt to the front hubs of the Beater and give it a shot. Not gonna drive it on main roads but it should be fun.
Gonna hit Tractor Supply for some tire chains and go for it!! When it's done, I'll post pictures of some 30' snow roosters.

Whoa, man...creepy. I saw a Model T in a nerd magazine (Motor Trend or sumthin like that) with skis on it. It was an accessory kit from the 20's. It looked like fun and I got word out to a few guys what I wanted to do and BAM...free skis. This is gonna be cool......literally. It's gonna be 33* today.

Here you go pete. I found this the other day and sent this to all my buddies around here the other day when it snowed. I would love to see the photos when you get it going. Get you a helmet in case the chains give way.

I'm picturing annual HAMB lake races coming soon.

I used to love watching the old beaters racing on the iced over lake erie when I was a kid. Though I wonder if the ski's will give an advantage or not.

Post some pics when its ready.

That pickup is a guys that hangs out over at www.teamchevelle.com I believe that truck has fenders and wheels again, he can change it without too much work, that is one of the original snow kits from when that truck was new. Its a cool little pickup.

Just don't go and start singing and dancing like Fred Astaire in that old christmas show! Anybody remember that cartoon with the clay guys and the truck with the skis on it at the beginning, I think it was a mail truck. Ever since seeing that I wanted one! Those pictures of the old trucks are pretty sweet!

  17. It's "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" by Rankin and Bass, the folks that brought you "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer". My kids love that movie.

My daughter's favorite new DVD. I'm beginning to not like it. She really likes when the Bumble puts the star on the tree and it twinkles.

Pete, My dad has some open land down in Holly that you can test out your 1/4mile snow times on. While your down there stop over at Mt. Holly and check if they have any of the old Tucker Snow-Cat track sets for sale, they'll hook up better outa the hole than tire chains!!
Mt. Holly used to have a tucker with an exhaust stack up each side of the windshield, runnin off of a small block mopar.....That thing sounded bad as hell snortin up the hills at 6 grand or so with all four track sets kicking up the snow.

Pete, I'm going to make an offer that I think you should seriously consider. How about I come pick up Jenny and Frankie and have them stay with Sharon and I until you regain some semblence of sanity? I promise to bring them back just as soon as the doctor's clear you for living outside the compound. :)

do believe your talking about the beginning of either Rudolf Or frosty the snowman claymation tv show from the late 60s.the ski track conversion was sold and advertised to appeal to mail carriers and doctors.there is still a kit to convert 4x4 trucks to 4 tracks ford offered it as an option not all that long ago!
