I have less than that in my whole 32 p/u project right now [IMG]

As much as I love them, I think a 3W is out my league.

I've heard, possibly from Gooch, that this guy makes excellent reproductions. Gennie deuce 3-w garnish moldings that are in this condition bring $2500-3000 these days. I have no idea what Brookville will charge, maybe they'll be even higher.

thats more incredible than the ebay post!!!!

  11. I posted this a few days ago and no one even read it. I am friends with the guy that made them (he had a few sets made) and they are exact and fit perfect. I dont own a pair because I just cant see spending 3 grand for anything that doesnt help my car go faster. My 3 window had the garnish mouldings removed 50 years ago and I doubt I will put them on now.

I am, however, fucked on a dash because I just dont think it's a real 3 window without a real 3 window dash. I wish I could get over it but some things just belong on that car in my opinion.

Garnish mouldings, however, dont score to high on my priority list. They are really 3,000 dollars and he has sold several sets at that price. I repeat, three grand for fake ones.

The Kennedy Brothers have a list at their shop of guys that will pay anything for a nice three window body. No questions about price, if it's a nice body they will pay BIG for it. They sold the last one for 30 large, not CW Moss.

Deuce stuff has always been expensive, that why I have a poor mans deuce(Model A with deuce grill). I have seen dash boards you could see thruogh go for $2000.00 bucks and $700, bucks just for a glove box door. They would be a deal at that price if they were N.O.S. I guess, but still WOW!

I'm just thankful that SOMETHING out there is more expensive than roadster parts. Somehow that makes me feel better...

There is no way to justify this.

I'm going to make some assumptions here, but I'll venture a guess that the cost of tooling goes quite a way towards justifying it. Add the time and effort the man put into making all of it happen. The drive to follow through, the trips spent back and fourth from the die makers, approving the proofs, etc. Add to that that the parts are rare and desirable and I think it's justified. Totally justified. I wonder if he's raking it in hand over fist or has just sold a few sets and has some dough left over after set-up cost? Has he even made his money back yet? Someone is buying them. It won't be me - I want to own a five window someday.

With new steel bodies being made, this is the next logical step.

And if they had to pay to have the tooling made,
he's going to have to sell well over 100 sets to break even.

Too much ? Don't buy it.

And I wonder how many times he's heard, "I'm definitely interested in a set". [IMG]

Garnish moldings are like garnish with your steak, who eats the parsley anyway?

Wescotts does the door moldings for 182.50 each and 117 more for the rear window molding. In this case, I'd say "Glass is Class".

I've heard '40-'42 willys coupe garnishes go for way, way more than that. Not to mention rotted steel bodies for over $20,000 that no one is restamping.

  24. It still seems to me....cut the price in half and watch sales triple or maybe even go up four times.

Jules is the guy. He owns one of everything (more 32's than anyone I know) and took a bath on these garnish mouldings. Everyone said they would buy them so he paid a shit load of money to have them made and then people backed out. True story. Honestly, I kinda feel sorry for him.
