This goes back more than 20 years When my friend Rod got married I gave him a nicely wrapped gift with a note that said do not open until the big night, He called me from the honeymoon suite around 2PM and from the sound of his voice I could tell he was inebtiated and laughing his **** off, he said." My uncle who p***ed during Covid gave me a half used bottle probably 30 years ago. Still using it. Will more than likely get p***ed down to my kids. Andy
Tell me you’re not from the northeast without telling me you’re not from the northeast! I use it all the time! One winter of salt and nothing comes apart! After heating, chiseling and beating on something with a sledge hammer for hours for hours you will learn to love Anti-seize! When ever I put something back together it gets a nice coat of it!
I appreciate the humor about using anti seize. Been there done that. My comment is more of a warning. Anti seize alters the torque values of any threads it is put on. It allows the fastener or plug etc to turn further to achieve the proper oiled thread torque value. This increases the clamping force and can cause issues. It is anti seize, not anti strip. You can look it up but you need to decrease the torque spec on anything you use it on.
Never heard of anti-seize in spray cans, just the little can and brush and lipstick tube varieties. I'll make a point of not buying any.
Got out in 1990 so not sure if they're still used but the Navy used to have sound powered phones to call between engine rooms, the machine shop, etc. that you had to crank the handle to notify the intended recipient. We'd anti seize the earpiece of the shop phone we wanted to mess with when they weren't looking and then run to another location and call. Yeah, it gets everywhere.
I never used sound powered phones except for basic training in San Diego in 1971. That's a good thing as I never could hear what the other person was saying. btw; fwiw the anti-seize I use is in a tube similar to a toothpaste tube except smaller.
Had a contractor pipe welder on a mainline job , he knew it all a real egg head . As he progressed we learned he was way above mortal man , no one ever did as much as him or as well as him . Pipeline inspector was due on the job this day , this welder got carbon paper between the cover plate and his welding lens and anti seize in the sweat band of his hood, potatoe in the exhaust pipe of the welding machine , clear tape on the terminals of his grinder cord plug . Last day on the job , for him ! If I knew it would have been that easy to send him to the buss stop it would have happened weeks before . He went into a rage “ every damn one on this crew is a Section 8 and they all lie to cover for each other ! I can not work here another day ! These people do not belong in society with normal people ! “ The pipeline inspector ask me WTH is wrong with him? Is this his 1st week on the job ? Answered “ not sure but it’s going to be tough to get another welder from NASA with his knowledge to replace him with . Never seen a man use anti seize on his hood to keep it from getting stuck on his fat head before this one ! “
I have been sitting here laughing at all the the anti seize stories it is trully such a great product. Anti seize is something that I have used ever since my Dad gave me a jar in the 80's it is copper anti seize and yes i am still using that same jar. I also always use Nickel Anti seize on all stainless steel nuts and bolts even when trial fitting it stops the stainless galling but it does get everywhere. Another thing that we learnt the hard way is that copper anti seize is for mild steel ,ferrous nuts and bolts and not to be used on stainless steel nuts and bolt as you get electrolytic corrosion (electrolysis) between the copper and the stainless and you will never be able to get it apart. Nickel anti seize can be used on mild steel or stainless.

I have to use it on the hubs on my OT car if I want to get the Type 5 wheels that are definetly hub centric back off. That was after using a splitting maul to get one off the first time I took it off.
