It'd already be in my driveway, especially if it comes with a title. There's money to be made on it.

Are you a guy that doesn't need a nice truck? ...Only reason I can think of why it isn't at your place already.

After consoltation with the wife..........it's settled. I just don't have the time! Too many projects and I need to get the roadster running. So, let me throw it out to the masses. It's listed on CL in Petaluma, CA. Somebody put their money where their mouth is! Here's the CL posting........................

Would you even need a title if you were to build it as a Gasser only used at the strip?

  9. See, this is why I never consulted my wife on a purchase! Its also why I am now divorced. But I got lots of cars..........

  10. That truck is a good buy from what I can see. The '40-'47 truck firewall is pretty much flat sheet metal, so firewall and floors won't be hard to fabricate. For what it's worth, if you want hanging pedals, a '52-'56 Ford car pedal assembly fits '40-'47 Ford trucks like it was custom made for it. You have no idea how hard it is to find a nice straight pair of '38-'41 pickup rear fenders, you are $1000 ahead of the game with the fenders that are on that truck. Those 9" Ford rears are not as common in the junkyard as they were 30 or 40 years ago, especially the narrow ones that will get the tires under the fenders (probably a V8 Mustang or a '57-'59 Ford car). I've seen people pay a lot more for something nowhere near as good as that '41 pickup. You could start with one in rougher shape and spend a ton of money getting it to the point that this truck is already at.

I think that's an 8" rear. If it is a 9" its a good one because of the heavy webbing.

Thats not to far, @Chris will probably have new thread started by the end of the week!

  13. Thats a pretty cut up 4o...but it's still a 40 ford. Would be a great canidate for a gasser! and 1300.00 isn't much for anything especially a pre war Ford

  14. looked like a double web 9" inch.....we were getting good bucks for them.....been looking at 39-40-41 trucks....good price....
