It all started with My friend D that thougt i had a car that was all too new. Here in sweden a car from before 1950 dont have to pass the inspection every year . So my car needed to be sold. An add in every possible magasine and internet was needed .The market seemd to bee dead for this kind of car. But one day i got a phone call from a guy who said that i had what he was looking for. So the car was sold and the chase for somehing from the 40this was on it´s way.
First time i saw the 46 was here on HAMB, it was my friend D who had looked at it for some time but it was a bit to pricy for me.So i was looking every were for another car. There was nothing i wanted here in Sweden so i keept looking in the us . After a couple of weeks i was looking at ebay , and guess.... there it was. Better price and my pick up was sold. Time to do same buissnes. Used the buy it now buttom and just bougt the car. Im was now the proud owner of a 46 chevy fleetline aero sedan. Ok.
    Next thing on the list..
How to get it from St louis to Dickinson texas. Ther was some options. land transport. Pricy . no we desided to go there our self and drivi it down. I been to us one time before but that was for five days and i did´t realy see much of the country. But my friends D and E has done this stuff several times , so now started projekt 46 here in sweden. We were looking for cheep fly tickets so we could fly to St louis and home from Huoston. The internet is sooo lovely when it come to this kind of stuff, We found tickets and we started to make our plans about the trip. Which way willl we take? What do we want to see. So the map came on the table and the plans were done. We desided to see graceland We felt that we realy need to visit the KING. Then D and E had made some friend on their earlier trips so we wanted to meet them to.Well the plane left sweden the 20th of october and we arriwed in St louis In the break of dawn. There Dave the guy i bougt the car from pickt us up and took us to his home there we saw the car named Larry for the first time. It was love at first sight.
    Will be continiud
    (Sorry for the spelling)

All I have to say is....it sounds as if you and your buddies gotta true love of the hobby to go to the lengths you have to go to stay in a hobby.....

Oh....and your english (written and spoken I'm sure) is much better than my Swedish....dont worry about it.

Reminds me of my younger days traveling the United States for 30 years to buy a neat vintage car, old Coke machine, Wurlitzer juke box or vintage racing snowmobile. Those were some of the best times of my life. I wish I was still able to walk well enough to continue doing the same thing but those days are gone. Congratulations on your find and your fun visit to the USA. Nice car...............Take care,Mike

So now we have to find our way to Graceland. But how har can it be?
Well lets say like this. Memphis is a bit bigger than uppsala here in sweden!!
But some how we made it there. I thougt it would be bigger, but remenber this was in the 70th so i must say it was impressiv anyway, I had hoped that we could drive up to the house and take some pic´s with the car in front of the house but it was impossible to buy our way in . So we had to take the regular guided tour , to bad. The car would been beutyful infront of that house
