I also liked the car. When I was there- trunk was open & it had a modern Alpine sound system mounted in there. I'm guessing the HU is in the glovebox. It was the only big turn-off for me, he should have hidden it- like I did (under the seat). Looked out of place. Both Doug & I were on the fence on the wheels. I liked them better than he did.
Another slight turn-off for me was the column. Just looks odd at the top.

Funny, the grill ruins it for me. Looks like a super nice build, but the grill just doesn't fit for me. The rest of the body is great though.

I thought the same thing, all that work put into the car but no effort to hide that audio stuff. Stuck out like a sore thumb to me and bummed me out.

  5. Well, it may not be my style of car but I can still dig it. The builder(s) did a great job!

Its owned by Ken Reister...Two time Ridler winner and the AMBR winner from 2006! How funny when he won the Ridler and AMBR in 2005-2006 you all hated his Foose built car...now look...

Awful lot of money for a gl*** car. But it is nice nonetheless!

Doesn't float my boat but is a dam fine looking ride. Never thought that combination could look that good together.

I'm lost on the grille. But it's not my car and some people seem to love it. That's all that matters.

I got lucky...I got to see this car mid-build. things that alot of folks arent realizing ...for example, there isn't a singular ford part in that grille. it's hand built, every single piece of it. and that's just the tip of the iceberg. the story about the hood will make a good metal mans **** pucker up.

    I like it. alot.

Exhaust port bolts aren't splayed... looks like a Windsor-based something-or-other.

    ...and yeah, sweet car!

The grill blows it for me...

It's swoopiness and proportions are a little out of wack from the rest of the car... Nice car though.

Very nice build , could he or would he drive it? Is he going to show it for awhile and then drive it? If not are trailered show cars HAMB friendly?

absolutely amazing!! To think that no one to my knowledge has ever tried that combination before (probably have but i'm not aware of it). The grille is the perfect thing to lead off that swoopy '33/'34 body. In my mind the whole thing just flows, front to back. Congrats to whoever thought of the idea and to the builders for great execution. Two thumbs up!!!

for the record, Ken isn't scared to go out and let the rubber hit the road. The "other" car has been seen running the streets of denver....and it won the ridler. he also owns the black el camino from the "absorber" ads...also driven on a regular basis... so yeah. I suspect it will see some miles. :D

It's nice to know he will drive it, although it doesn't take open wheeled cars long to trash the paint. *****in car, the grille has it's fans and non fans, but i sure like it and the color!

  22. Wow, that thing is gl*** ? For the money spent would have thought it would be steel. Fabulous looking car regardless, the '36 grille brings it all together nicely.

Steve, your idea about Halibrands would have been killer......but then, I'm a Halibrand kind of guy. Nice work !

    Johnnie.
