Art & Inspiration This was about as cool as one could get when I was a teenager

  1. I was blessed by geography to grow up on Detroit rock and roll, great memories of Arrowsmith -Toys in the Attic- blasting out of 6x9’s in the trunk of the 65 plymouth parked on the lawn of our highschool. Sweet emotion anyone…

    Not exactly a car radio but when I was an MP in '72/'73 I was stationed at a special weapons depot in NoCal. Our trucks had no radios so we used portable transistor radios to listen to the Art Laboe oldies show on graveyard shift. Motor patrol consisted of providing security for a group of earth covered bunkers separated by north/south east/west rows. Radio reception was best (but not great) while driving on the north/south rows but sucked on east/west rows. Needless to say the security was best on the north/south rows but less than stellar on the east/west rows.

  4. Yup, high school was the back half of the seventies.
