Maybe this doesn't fit on this board, but this was my last years daily ride....decided it was time for a change.... So this week I decided to upgrade it a bit and ride it till I have the Triumph ready.

Added drag bars, solo seat, and sparta taillight....cut the front forks down and will probably make some struts for the rear.....took off all the Yamaha badges and painted it....gonna do the case covers and exhaust wrinkle black.

I think these are the most fun per dollar you can have when it comes to two wheelers.

Let's see some more progress pics from everyone.

Very cool, Hatch. Just needs some real wheels and a Bates pillion pad on the rear fender to complete the transformation. [IMG]

Two wheelers in general can be built for chump change compared to what the cars cost us. I found a perfect 21-inch front wheel for my pit bike at my local MC salvage yard for $75. It's from a 125 Kwacker -- aluminum rim, small conical hub with brake and axle, plus speedo drive (perfect for a vintage trialer).

I'm building a scaled-down version of a BSA Alloy Clipper-type scoot, with a Hodaka chassis and a Ducati 160 cammer single. I picked a gorgeous aluminum tank for it last week for a hundred bucks and have nailed down sources for Dunlop Trials Universal tires, Amal control lever, aluminum fenders, Lycette saddles, fork gaiters, silencers, etc., all at very reasonable prices. Here's a scaled photo-composite of the one I'm building.

  6. Very cool. My 500twin looks a lot like that first bike. av8s bike makes me wish I didnt throw that old Hodaka frame away a couple years back. [IMG]

I got all the final welding done on my frame and suspension this weekend. Touring is moved to its new garage for final body/paint/assembly
