    The horror, the horror!!!!!!!

I am a MSRA member (Minnesota street rod ***ociation) and as a member you receive a monthly publication en***led "The Linechaser". I normally read the cl***ifieds the day the book shows up in the mail. I recieved this issue last week. On this past Monday night I even had a conversation with some non-members about how this publication sometimes has "good deals" on projects. The "good deal" ads are placed by gentlemen that aren't familiar with other internet methods of sale. This past Wednesday I read the cl***ifieds, and ............Oh ****, I missed it! I called twice with no response from the seller:(:(:(:(. The point of this post is to say that they are still out there, and I'm also very curious as to who ended up with this car and what does it look like????? Maybe I don't want to know.....

"No engine" means the blown 392 in the corner of the garage was another $500.
Man, reading that ad was like reading one of the cl***ifieds in the back of an old Hot Rod magazine. You'd have fainted if the ad had a picture.

it would have to be quite a pile to be worth only $5,000.00. lets just ***ume it was run over by a tractor and then burned and the guy is asking too much.

Brian said he paid lots for the one he bought so I doubt it's the same car.

I had that same thought but the locations are just too far apart? My gut tells me it went local - I hope to find out who got it, and I will give them a big hug and say, DUDE! Or maybe it was a turd?????? I plan on asking at Back to the 50's this weekend......

Yeah but Brian bought it from a guy who bought from Minnesota, even the same area of Minnesota according to the area code in the ad. Just a strange coincidence that both are '41s and both were from Minnesota.

That guy's probably had to change his phone number at this point.

Say it isn't so - the wheels are worth the bulk of the asking price. I may need electric shock therapy to have this memory erased......

Probably someone left a zero off the asking price , or just a mean prank . I have see a posting on craigslist for an old Willys drag car for $1500with a photo of a car I know that was not foe sale !

  15. I'm thinking it was supposed to read $15,000 firm, not $5,000 firm IMHO

I need to clarify: These events that I describe in my first post took place last week, not this week. That only makes this more possible that it is the car - but it's not confirmed yet. Brian would maybe need to chime in with info if he so desired. Oh well, I'm going to bed.

"Buildable" is not a flattering term. I'm guessing it was a complete basket case like the other Frankenstein Willys that a couple guys were fighting over not too long ago.

  19. Don't know if I am bursting your bubble!!!!!
Being an MSRA member and having many local Willys friends, we too saw that, and called many more than several times. I know that guy from 25 years back, and the Willys he had then was a nice bodied car. He lived in Minneapolis near Lake Street back then.
...Any way the word here is that possibly one of his friends (???) put that ad in there as a prank, just to give him tons of calls to answer. Don't know for sure, but it makes more sense than a $5000 Willys. He's been a Willys guy for many years, and he would know what they are worth!!! Most of us in the Twin City area that have Willys ,know each other, and I can tell you for sure that if it was true and a local guy got it, we will eventually know! It was a timely conversation piece at our local Back to the 50's event this last weekend, a**** the Willys guys, and that's where I heard the possibility of a prank!
