Is it worth the ride from NH to Ct for the Thompson swapmeet? Hotrod parts? Racecar Parts? or lots of yardsale shit?
Last Nov I found a lot of what I needed to swap a Olds into a 40, for cheap, and the last few things I found the next day at Lake Compounce. But, just like any swap in modern times, you may not find a thing as far as old stuff that you went looking for. Modern swaps will always be hit or miss.
I've never had much luck there. Tons of circle track stuff, lawn mowers, snow blowers and bicycles. And don't forget the smokey trash fires, but you never know you might hit it big?? Lake Compounce is better but a lot farther away !!
More race car stuff, than hot rod stuff, but like the man said, you never know. Grab some buds and go for a ride. They have a nice club house with food and cold beer. Try the raceway special, that's my fave. T
Thompson is ok, but Lake Compounce is the place to go for hot rod stuff. I believe its the same weekend as Thompson.
Thanks guys, I'd love to go to Lake Compounce. I've read a lot of good things about it here on the HAMB.
Compounce and Stafford Springs are the best. Might be muddy at Compounce next week if we get the weather they say we're supposed to get.
Gonna try to set up at Thompson, hopefully both days, just because you have to pay for both days, which equals $85 bucks to get in.....no wonder car counts are down. Will have a Challenger/ Stanton sprint car roller, a Frankland quickie etc. so stop by and buy something!
