I concur, many in the rust belt can't find crap and would rather have shipped from Cincy than Cali. Become a member, give a discount and Midwest guys will buy from you.

  2. I have bought stuff from Alliance members just because they were Alliance members, even if the discount didn't make them the best price. Join up, you won't regret it. How about doing a Tech thread showing a complete install of one of your front end setups, with lots of pics and specs?

Maybe not, but they are new metal. If you ever break one, you'll wish it was new metal.

A bunch of the new stuff never really looks like the old anyway.

I have had nothing but good dealings with Thompson's. They will go out of there way to help fellow hot rodders out. If they want to join the hamb, and feel it will benefit them.. they will.

There business is in the middle of a HUGE Traditional Hot rod part of the country. They do well cause they are local. As the owner of a Hot Rod shop I know I can call these guys at any hour, any day for a part and they will not only have it, but they will let me come get it then and there. Thats more valuable to me, and a TON of other supporters, than if sombody else has the parts for a couple bucks cheaper.

I get parts for cost from a few different suppliers because I'm a dealer.. But if you need a part NOW, waiting a couple days for shipping doesn't work.

These guys work hard to keep there customers satisfied.

I wouldn’t be to quick to put down original ford metal. There’s a reason old fords and there parts are still around.

  6. no offense meant here, but you're really not comparing apples to apples... you're quoting Erics dl front end...and it isn't the standard superbell axle assembly you are showing....i'm from cincy, live in mich, but go to cincy regularly , i have a house there, ect..i could have come in and picked up my whole front end and drove home to mich with it...but i went with Riely's instead...came highly recommended, not that you guys haven't....but like others have said, step up and join the Alliance...and next time compare apples to apples when ya post.....hair pins, 4 link, all these variables with Eric didn't cost me what you have listed...and i was quoted my cost BEFORE I JOINED THE ALLIANCE.............I'll know for a fact in a few days my front end seup will be here then..i'll post again then.....

By it all new!!!! Those kits are the way to go!

...save the Ford stuff for me.

  9. I bought a wishbone splitting kit (weld-in bungs, tie rod ends, mounting plates) from Thompsons. Perfectly happy with it, and it arrived in New Zealand in about 6 days

Thompsons garage is a+ in my book. i purchased many components from them, one being a pair of buick drums, being fairly new to this hotrod thing, i soon learned that the buick drums were not "era correct " for the car i was trying to build, Jeez there is a lot to learn with this traditional game:) anyway, thompsons allowed me to return the buick drums, this was about 6 months after i had originally purchased them, and swap them for some lincolns . i also try and purchase from hamb vendors, and i agree Thompsons should join, but all that aside, they are great guys, very helpful, and never talked down to me, a newbie, trying to learn, and in the process making all kinds of mistakes, while asking a bunch of tedius questions, i have no doubt that this probably holds true for most of the alliance vendors, but i have experienced it firsthand at thompsons:D
