I like the looks of a 2x4 frame better than a 2x3, it just looks better in my opinion. If possible I would modify a original but when you have to a 2x4 just looks like more of a finished frame when your done.Just my opinion.
+1 On making sure that the tubing seams are to the inside of the frame rails. If you don't do that, they will end up showing through the paint on the frame. One suggestion, you can always do all the cutting and fitting yourself and tack the frame together with your 110 welder and then load it up and take it to someone with a bigger welder to either weld it up or have it welded up. I built my T bucket in Texas using a little 110 stick buzz box to tack things together and then load them up and off down the street to my buddy who would weld them up with his 220 lincoln (way pre mig or tig in home shops) often after I had left a note with the piece on the way to work. It cost me a few cases of Bud before I was done but I got a world cl*** welding job on my T that way.

As I stated earlier, I agree with you in some cases, I just do not have the same opinion as to "All Tube Frames" look like ****..... Enjoy your Chrylser frame.... I'm sure it looks awsome....
Used 3" x 1.5" x 1/8" box on my T, ran regular 12 sec quarters for 10 years straight as a die, You just do not need 3/16" wall tube, you can make a frame strong and stiff without resorting to going to heavy and large box section. A bit of thought will save you quite a few pounds in weight. One time on the track with my Sue driving it came off the line and hit the wall pretty hard (she didn't listen to what i told her ) the only damage was 2 buckled steel wheels, bent steering arm, shattered rear wheel bearing and a bent panhard rod, not bad eh !!! I abused that car for 10 years and its still as good as the day i built it.
