thoughts on a rust rod build

i just sold my 67 flh today and am considering building a rust rod,rat rod whatever you want to label it.I've got some cash a lot of tools,plenty of help including i'm sure Choprods who played a big part in my 51.Don't need to fit into any paticular"catagory" just want an open car for me and my 4 year old son to enjoy.Safety is my prime concern,i know no very hardcore huh.Any input about where to start appreciated,including titling in the state of Misery...

 

Titleing in this state can be trickey. Look for an MO car with a title.
Saftey don't make you a wus, just smart. Brakes, lights, good solid fuel lines, seat belts, those are all good things.
Remember Rat Rod, and Junk Rod are two different things.
Too bad you need an open car, I know where there is a complete, original '28 coupe that could be had for a song.
