Thoughts on Air Horns

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by MrManz, Feb 17, 2006.

  1. I was lookin on the bay, and saw they have some air hornes and what not that play different tunes. They all require a air compressor and solonoids. Well I already have the Air bag system so i thought it might be kind of fun. What do you guys think about those? Also does anyone know if you can get one set of horns that would play multiple tunes? They all seem to be specific to one tune.

  3. air horns are cool as long as they are actual air horns. If it plays off of compressed air then i say go for it. as long as it plays lacucaracha and dixie and has aooooggaa. sounds like a winner. go for the gold homie.

Only if you mount the horns in line with the exhaust ports on your bags, so that when you lay out it plays the song!

airhorns....? Oh yeah, as long as you've got the right songs (La Cucaracha.) and, YES, make sure you get air-- not digital tones.

LMAO! They have these little deals at Spencers that when you squeeze them they sound like a big wet fart! That would be cool on air bags when you drop it!

i put a train horn on a car with bags and the switch was on a remote. When someone gets close you can hit the button and scare the shit out of them. its preety funny, but mean. And you don't have to be close.

when you guys say train horn, did the horn actually come off a locomotive? if so, how did you get one? i would love to have one so i can blast those soccer moms talking on their cell phones. locomotive engines have 5-6 horns. how do you hook something like that up?

Buyer beware on the train horns. I have a friend that had actual locomotive horns on his Buick. Got stopped one day for the noise. the cops called an railroad dectective. Seems there is a lot of stolen horns being sold on e bay. Any way he had to turn them in to the PD. Bummer.. Stick to the JC whitney ones to avaoid confiscation.. Sparky

If you really want loud air horns just get a set from the salvage yard for semi trucks or purchase a new set from a parts dealer. The semi truck "train" horns are expensive & loud. The regular semi horns are probably all that is needed to make jaywalkers broadjump the highway, and used they should be cheap.

Check here: http://www.hornblasters.com/ although their terror on the streets videos are kinda dumb. I was hoping to find something small enough to fit on my motorcycle.

This one looks like a plumbers nightmare.
