I recently made a post asking how to ***le a 40s model coupe that had no sn#/Vin....

It was deleted and I would like to know why. Or at least a more in depth answer....

My alerts said - Your post in the thread 1940 Ford coupe ***le help? was deleted. Reason: s10 frame swaps are frowned upon here. please read the rules.....

Yes *myself * did make a comment about the condition of the vehicle IE as such *Statement Not topic* *The body was setting on a s10 frame* THIS WAS ONLY SAID ONCE!
Once again this statement describing a condition of such vehicle was not the topic - The Topic was ***ling the cab/body/Vehicle

Maybe I am missing something - Maybe I misunderstood but I do not see one rule broken here......
Im here to learn - To better myself and my Vehicle.
The s10 frame is not my concern nore will it ever be *Its simple and easy to work on no help needed* However Its gonna be hard for me to ask questions - Tips or tricks if every time I give out my info - My frame gets my post killed..... Do I just need to find some wear else to sub to? Not trying to be rude or snotty but I feel as if I have been attacked for something....

I am here for pre 40s info (IE) Flathead v8s - Body and cab setup and yes in this case ***le/vin/sn#. Other then running gear I plan to have a 40s model true hotrod.
In the rules it states -Posts pertaining to traditionally inspired, but not quite period perfect belong on the main forum found here. and HERE is right wear i put my Thread.

    Copy and pasted -
    Rules:
    1. No profanity in subject lines.

    2. No political/religious/racial posts at all. No exceptions.

    3. No ****.

    4. We cover traditional '65 and older American cars only. All other threads will be deleted. We don't cover rat rods, muscle cars, mustangs, or VWs.

    5. No commercial posts.

I did not violate any rules?
Even when getting into the guide lines - I dont see much for broken rules - Even tho I stated a condition *s10 frame* The topic had nothing to do with such. It was the cab.

I see you just signed up in the last 2 weeks and appreciate you posting in the questions area........

First of all.... don't take anything personal....Moderators - Moderate on a Editorial level - Not on a personal level.

The rules you posted above.... on the rules page below that in the same section was "Guidelines"...........
    # 5 is more in depth.......which I underlined to help you understand ;

" 5. As mentioned throughout these guidelines, the H.A.M.B. focuses on TRADITIONAL hot rods and customs. Posts pertaining to traditionally inspired, but not quite period perfect belong on the main forum found here. Please note that we don't focus on things such as modern fuel injected motors, big-inch wheels, frame clips, after market independent suspensions, etc... at all on the H.A.M.B.. As such, posts that stray away from the "traditional inspired" will be deleted."

So, there is nothing "traditional" in anyway of a S-10 frame to be specific.

PLUS on top of that.... anything to do with ***les -
Every state has different procedures - thus the HAMB has nothing to do with Vehicle ***les in anyway.
    ***les are legal do***ents.
You need to contact the Motor Vehicle department in your state.
50 guys will give you 50 different opinions / recommendations so we decided a long time ago to not allow ***les wanted, for sale or discussions.
What's legal in one state may not be in another....so again you need to contact the Motor Vehicle department in your state to discuss your situation.

Last....your "this was only said once" comment.......

The HAMB has over 230,000 members....if we allow 230,000 members to post something off topic " "only once", then the HAMB wouldn't be the HAMB........

We stay focused on the topic of "Traditional" ERA Hot Rod and Custom Cars.......

Thanks and welcome to the HAMB.

Thank you for the reply and clearing that up....
I guess my next question would be - Does my Vehicle belong here? I know the Truth for you is the same for me - You dont wanna delete my post anymore then i want it deleted. I know the frustration that comes with being an admin - I admin a few gaming servers myself *Fun TIMES!* I dont wanna be that guy that is always getting posted killed and annoying the admins.
but at the same time - I LOVE THIS SITE and the people here..... Trust me if I had the money to buy a era correct hotrod I would but for now this is what i can afford - and I dont wanna be that guy that buys there car - I wanna build mine - earn it by building it!
I plan to build this thing as is - with a flathead v8 and a ear true transmission and such....
Old school but in new ways - My running gear and such is gonna be modern *Brakes and such* All the stuff that effects the safety and way the car handles the road.....

As much as i wanna be here and as much as i feel i belong here - I dont wanna annoy or cause any head pounding or such - I love everything pre 60s even tho I a younger guy - I love the music - the cars - the fact that kids got daddys belt when they needed it - all the stuff you dont see today....
So just let me know what yall think i should do....

Also might I suggest - adding *No ***le post* under the rules seeing how decided a long time ago to not allow ***les wanted, for sale or discussions.

Iv had to track down a few ***les myself before - I use a company here and they get ***les for me all the time but there more modern based - I knew the laws changed state by state - I was hoping to find that one guy that has been here and done this here before.

Anyway Thanks for your reply and please let me know what would be best for all of us.

You will find if you avoid showing or talking about any of the "new stuff" and focus on the stuff that fits on this board you will probably have few if any issues. Show it in pictures or mention it in threads and someone will probably let a moderator know and shut you down.

Back to your original question, The 40 Fords VIN was stamped on the left frame rail right in front of the firewall. Every state is different, but if it were me, I would look into finding a 40 frame with a good legible VIN number and start that way. S-10's don't really fit that great, so you will save yourself a lot of grief in the long run, trying to get things to fit and look right.

Good explanation CCC. It makes it easier to take when somebody explains where you went wrong instead of just jumping their *** and saying we don't do that here.

Raven, I understand your frustration, but you have run afoul of the dreaded "trad police", and now you need to start anew.
First thing I can recommend is to change your avatar pic! In the first place, A Gremlin pici in itself "enough to piss off the Pope", and it is in no way traditional. When were those ugly *******s built anyhow? The mods see that pic and swoop in for the kill!
Next, you will get 9 thousand different answers from almost all 50 states when you ask about ***les, and some of them, no, many of them, are wrong about the laws in their own state, much less yours!
Your profile says you found the body in the woods of OK. Maybe ask around here by way of conversations with guys from your state, whether it's OK or elsewhere. Good luck!
