threaded bar stock question???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by gears-n-grease, Mar 1, 2006.

  1. I am building some fancy gadget for a car and it needs to be semi adjustable. I need, what I refer to as drilled or threaded bar stock. So ,Basicly I need 1/4'' x1/4'' bar stock drilled every half inch and tapped. What would this be refered to in the real world? the material type is not important. thanks

  2. Sounds like a DIY project to me.

Aluminum would be easy to work.

You'll find it easier to tap for fine threads, probably 10-32.

    Use WD-40 for cutting fluid.

Aside from that, if you don't need too many holes, you may be able to find what you want at Home Despair in the electrical dept.
Known as a bus bar I believe.
