My pedal came from a Hi Hat; about the same thing. It also was rescued from a dumpster by a buddy of mine. Do you know what brand of drums your pedal came from? It's virtually identical to mine. To everyone else. You all are too kind. Like Elvis used to say, "Eh,thank ya! Thank ya very mush!" I don't know about the Roundup. We'll see. I figured out how to get photobucket to give up the large pic's. Same method that's described in "Questions and Suggestions" that is used for imageshack. So here's two more. pigpen
Pigpen that "T" is for "TITS"...! Well done...! I love "Slingerland" pedals..., especially "Krupa" pedals...!!! I wonder which car krupanut is going to run his "KRUPA" LOUD pedal into...??? My "Slingerland" is standing by as well for my roadster...!!!
The motor color is the original bronze that came on many 8BA flatheads. It's from Hirsch Auto. I wanted the car to look like it was built in '52 with a new motor. Didn't get it exactly, with the alternator and electric fan, but I drive it so the issue of dependability rears it's ugly head. pigpen
Oh yeah... that's better, I can see it now. That's a great looking T. Three years very well spent I would say.
Looks good man I'm envyous and I hate roadsters messes up my perty long hair. Would of been better with a sbc lol.
Oh Yeh!!! I predict lots of fun in your future!! Glad to see another flatty hittin the road!! Good luck
Wow... All I can say is that thing really looks great. I love the color choices and the interior and dash work too. Good job. And a flatty too. I love it. PJ
Very nice and Great job on it. My model A is spray can paint as well, different color green though and much darker Are those Ford wires or KH and what size are they on yer roadster? i love the Flat head/ wire wheel combo, makes me want to do that to mine some day! yea, have a blast and drive the shit out of it! best wishes and enjoy the ride, CAB
Rich (pigpen) you are a Ruler!! That's about perfect. I see why you moved to Texas, it looks just like the good ol' Antelope Valley. ha ha ha Except the trees aren't leaning way over in the Devil Wind. Now post some pix of your '41. PS personally, I dig the alternator, electric fan and radials. It screams "Drive me HARD". CP
Thanks Cab. To answer a few questions. The wheels are '35 Ford wires. Fronts are 16"X4" stock. Rears are 15"X7". The Ford centers and spokes were welded to a modern rim by a place called Curbside Auto about ten years ago. I got their name from Stockton Wheel. I don't know if they still exist. The frame is 2"X4"X.120" rectangular tubing with a Chassis Engineering '32 front crossmember. From the firewall forward, the design is based on a somewhat stretched (about 4" to help fit the flathead) Model A, using the blueprint from Wescott's catalog. Behind the firewall, it is stepped, then turned sideways so as to cradle the stock '27 T body and make it look channeled, but it's not. The rear crossmember was made from the rectangluar tubing and is stepped back up 2" and pinched to accept a stock "41 Ford spring and rear end (One or two leaves removed). Wheelbase is 106". I built the frame at home using a power bandsaw, a hand held jig saw with metal blade, and an AC, Lincoln 220 buzz box welder using 7018 AC rod. Sorry, no build pic's. Hey Phil. The '41 is going back together. The new rings are in the flathead and one valve is secure. 15 more to go. She got kicked out of school for smoking as you know. Pic's to come in a month or two. Cleaning the garage floor with my back sure made the old man sore! It seems like I always wind up in places that look like AV. Must be bad Karma. Maybe good Karma, who knows. Trivia question. Who beat out Barbara Smith to win the title of Miss Littlerock back in the day? pigpen
Very nice, sir. Glad you didn't mind using alternator and electric fan. I am doing the same. Give us some details on the car. C4? Got pictures of the front suspension?
Well done pigpen - thats a sweet ride - love the stance and the host of small details that you have got just right.
Yep, I was sitting in the garage wondering what to do for the accelerator when my buddy says "Man, since youre a drummer you should use a bass pedal" And low and behold I just happened to have a busted Slingerland Epic hi-hat. They really work perfect. Been running mine for 3 years. I need to switch it out for the Krupa pedal wingnutz set me. The best one to use is the Ludwig "speed king"
OK. The trans is a '46 Merc three speed, shortened torque tube, and '41 Ford rear with 3:78 gears. The front suspension is the Easy Rider front end kit from Chassis Engineering with '48 Ford split wishbones. Engine is a '52 8BA Ford that came from a junkpile in Jolly TX. that was rebuilt using parts from Speedway, an Isky 3/4 cam, real Johnson lifters, a Fenton 2X2 with two Strombergs from a local swapmeet, and an aluminum flywheel that a neighbor brought over one day. Steering is a '48 Ford box and column with one U-joint added. Brakes are '41 Ford; wheels are '35 Ford. Body was pieced together from three rusty hulks, a couple of patch panels, and some metal from a local body shop that was in their dumpster. Thanks for your interest. pigpen
