I need a throttle linkage for my car. I'm just gonna make one though. I just need the rod from the carb to the linkage on the firewall. Can someone please tell me if I need to measure the distance while the carb is closed or fully open? I'm ***uming closed, but I really have no clue when it comes to this. Thanks in advance for any help! Rocky
Have somebody hold the gas pedal down to the floor. Hold the throttle lever on the carb at full throttle. This is the length your rod needs to be...more or less. Thread one end of the rod to allow for adjustment. Happy motoring!
I have seen them made from a piece of coat hanger before . You just need something to pull the throttle . Just make sure to not make it too long or the gas peddle won't hit the floor and when you stomp on the gas peddle you can break the throttle on the carb if you are not careful so check it very well before you take it out for a spin .
