Our Dragster ran a best p*** of 9.71 and a top speed of 136mph. The model A ran 23.10 @ 51 mph haha. Here are some pics and a video. The Royal Canadian Car Dave and Brant Ingles brought out their 1957 Ch***is research car And our car again And Bob Cantins Car And now for the video <object width="425" height="344"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/I9ImXAuzgI8&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></object>
You know what graham, I may not have been on this earth as long as others, but in my experience, the farm aint going anywhere and will be there next week... just sayin...just sayin...
This is very true. Our farm, suprisingly, hasn't moved in over 50 years. The weather, on the other hand, kind of likes to change every now and again so we "gotta go when we gotta go". So sorry I missed your wheelstand, but I'm sure you'll do it again and I'll be there to see it. Hugs Graham
thanks for sharing the pics, i hope your tires held it together once you started getting close to 50 miles haha. car looks great by the way
I would like to know more about the track; water filled Jersey barriers, score boards on a trailer, cables above the track. Is this a portable or temporary only track? Thanks. Butch/56sedandelivery. Oh, by the way, there's a "Thunder in the Valley" drag race at the Port Alberni Airport yearly on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Same name, same great people (Canadians).
Great pics, I didn't know Drayton Valley had a dragstrip. The flathead dragster is cool. What kind of times was it running? At least you ran your A coupe, and with the ET's it ran, you could enjoy a coffee.
I only ran the coupe twice, didnt want to break it (already blew up one rearend this summer) and I'm so used to going down the track in the dragster that after two 23 second p***es the novelty had worn off. I just wanted to see what it would run. Yea, they shut down one run way once a year to hold the race. It is alot of fun, very relaxed atmosphere. They have been doing it for 5 years now. Rumor has it the rotary club is trying to buy the runway and open it up as a full time drag strip.
I didnt get to see the black front engine car run, I heard they are still working out some tuning issues. The blue flathead car was running 12's. The orange one was just just there on display, it's not finished yet. Our dragster ran a best time of 9.71
I love the old slingshot dragsters. After I complete my coupe, I will be looking into a dragster project.....please send money.
