Just been watching Robert Mitchum in the movie Thunder Road Lots of nice Fords running in it. Anyone have recommendations for cl***ic car movies? I'll put it on my queue for Netflix.

Rebel Without A Cause, Two Lane Blacktop, Bullit, Amercan Graffiti, Vanishing Point, The Blob ( original version, with Steve McQueen), any surfer movie and any 50's monster movie where the town teenagers help out. Also see if you can get " The 1320". Has alot of drag stuff in it, also a trip looking over Les Ritcheys' shoulder as he drives a '64 T-Bolt Fairlane down the 1/4 mile.

Have to get Gone in 60 seconds the original one by Lackey . He was a master of all the shots and how he did them . He actually found out when the police changed shifts and did the chase scenes at those times so the cops wouldn't catch them !
The California Kid is another good one along with " Hotrod the Movie" that was on TV back in the 70's . It's not in production but can be found on disc . .
If you want a lot od really good car movies either go on Ebay or other places and buy "Burnt Rubber" It's got about 20 movies in a set for about $25 . It's a great set for your collection of car flicks . I have a lot of different car movies and have enjoyed all of them . Great to watch when the weather is ****py outside ! It's the Willy's coupe that Brian drives to beat the great Munns Root-beer car the owners son drives . Great drags races seen in that movies from Calf drag strips .
Buy "Burnt Rubber" and you won't be disappointed at all !

Thunder Road is a good movie, always liked Robert Mitchum. Some good corny hot rod movies would be: Cannonball Run, Death Race 2000, Hollywood Knights, Hot Rod Gang, Hot Rod Girl, Moonrunners (the inspiration for Dukes of Hazzard).
Jim, the Burnt Rubber DVD is available on eBay for about $13 now.
Grump here on the HAMB sells hot rod movies, here's a link to his site.

Don't forget Deuce of Spades, not on Netflix I don't think, but a great movie with a great story of how it was done. Do a search here on the HAMB for it. You won't be sorry for getting it and the women like it too.

Used Cars with Kurt Russell, The Giant Gila Monster, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, Smokey and the Bandit, Sin City (newer), 3000 Miles to Graceland, Cobra, The Expendables, any Fast and Furious movies (if you can tolerate some tuners too), White Lightning, Demolition Man has a 70 Olds 442, Red Line 7000, Hot Rod Rumble (about my car club, actually). I'm sure there's tons more, but I can't remember any more that haven't already been mentioned...

Not all of these movies are older, but they sure do have some cool cars that either make appearences, or are the star.

I bought the Duece of Spades when it first went up for the pre sale . It's a great movie too !
The Blues Brothers is one of my wife's and my favorite movies . We have watched it so many times we know all the lines by heart ! One of the best chase and cop car crash movies ever ! The real first Gone in 60 Seconds is another great crash movie as well .
